Randy Orton def. Jey Uso; The Miz attempted to cash in Money in the Bank contract.
For Jey Uso, facing and defeating Randy Orton would have propelled him near the top of the WWE totem pole. The Viper, however, wasn’t about to offer up his scalp so easily. Instead, Orton made convincing work of Uso as his brother Jimmy and Tamina looked on. After the victory, Orton dared WWE Champion Sheamus, who was also observing at ringside, to tangle with him.

Before the two could engage, Jimmy attacked Orton. Sensing an opportunity, the Irishman tried to kick his SummerSlam foe, but his errant boot ended up leveling Jimmy instead. At that point, The Viper deftly flattened The Celtic Warrior with an RKO.

The scent of vulnerability lured out United States Champion The Miz, who’s been bird-dogging Sheamus ever since capturing the Money in the Bank briefcase. Before Miz could cash in the briefcase, though, Orton slipped into the ring and also dropped Mr. Money in the Bank with an RKO.

Not long afterward, the remainder of the WWE Team made their way to the ring, including Edge, The Great Khali, R-Truth and John Morrison. When Khali attempted to make peace between Jericho and Cena, Edge leveled him with a Spear. The rest of the squad continued the back-biting and vicious attacks, calling into question whether or not the tenuous team will rise to the challenge of The Nexus or fall into disarray.

Randy Orton Suffers A Separated Shoulder.

I apologize for the lack of updates around here.

Randy Orton has recently injured his shoulder; WWE.com's Over The Limit results & WWE's official Twitter reported that it is a separated shoulder.

As of right now, Randy has been advertised & his currently scheduled to compete in the Fatal 4-Way Match on June 20th, 2010.

I do not know anything more, as I have seen multiple reports on various sites, from WWE having a back-up plan incase Orton cannot compete, to Randy himself saying he doesn't expect to be out of action for too long. I do not know which is true. All I know is the WWE reporting that he does have a separated shoulder & that he is advertised for the WWE Championship Match at Fatal 4-Way.

Regardless, I would like to wish Randy Orton a healthy & speedy recovery!

WWE Champion John Cena arranged Sheamus vs. Randy Orton for the No. 1 contender spot.
After handing Triple H one of the worst beatings of his storied career at Extreme Rules, Sheamus insisted that he be the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship. Only one problem – so did five-time former WWE Champion Randy Orton. Amidst their bickering, current titleholder John Cena intervened. The Champ arranged a match between The Celtic Warrior and The Viper with the winner earning an opportunity at the title.

Batista def. Sheamus and Randy Orton in a No. 1 Contender's Triple Threat Match.
Enraged? Disappointed? Embarrassed? After having his feet duct taped together by WWE Champion John Cena and losing at Extreme Rules, chances are high that Batista was feeling all three. That may explain his motivation for interrupting prior to the match between Sheamus and Randy Orton to become No. 1 contender for the WWE Title.

The Animal growled that he deserved to be part of a No. 1 contender’s bout. While The Celtic Warrior and The Viper threw up roadblocks, John Cena settled things, calling for a Triple Threat Match.

With all the treachery, cunning and chilling power ricocheting around the squared circle, Batista managed to redeem himself somewhat by defeating his two opponents, but only after Edge slid into the ring and dropped The Viper with a surprise Spear, which allowed the exhausted Animal to lay an arm across Orton's chest for the three-count.

Special guest host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, arranged World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton and Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz vs. WWE Champion John Cena & Batista.
Jack Swagger’s manners may be lacking, but his timing last week proved nearly flawless. “The All-American American” cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on SmackDown in the wake of the then-World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho suffering a Spear from Edge. After a mere nine seconds against Jericho, Swagger claimed his first World Heavyweight Title.

In his so-called “State of the World Heavyweight Championship Address,” Swagger took the opportunity to verbally jab WWE Champion John Cena, who responded by challenging the chest-beating braggart to a match. Not content flying under the radar, both Randy Orton and The Miz each demanded that they fight Swagger.

Instead, Raw’s special guest host, NXT Rookie David Otunga, silenced the raucous row. Otunga, who landed the prime hosting gig by winning an Eight-Man Battle Royal, arranged two matches for later in the evening: Swagger will take on Randy Orton and Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & Miz will defend their titles against The Champ and his partner … Batista!

World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger came up snake eyes – again. For two weeks straight, “The All-American American” has succumbed to the coiled strike of The Viper. In a non-title contest, the newly-minted World Heavyweight Champion failed to capitalize on his momentum from Friday Night SmackDown, while Randy Orton continues to slither to victory.

Sheamus, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Triple H & Randy Orton in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match.
There hasn’t been this much animosity between partners since Tiger Woods’ last marriage counseling session. Triple H was forced to team with his despised enemy, Randy Orton, when the two faced off against their respective WrestleMania opponents, Sheamus as well as Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match.

Before the bout, Rhodes and DiBiase, who will face one another – along with The Viper – in a Triple Threat Match, made it clear that their alliance had frayed somewhat. During the match, Orton nearly punished Rhodes for his seeming betrayal, but the Irishman kicked him square in the jaw, sending him to the canvas and pinning him for the win. His WrestleMania foe was sure to send a message, though, as The Game sent Sheamus over the top rope.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton ended in a No Contest.
With the memory of their epic main event match from last year’s 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania still fresh, Triple H and Randy Orton took up the gauntlet one more time. The two, however, would never reach a conclusion. Instead, their respective WrestleMania foes – Sheamus, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes – interceded. The three attacked, kicking up a five-man melee that resulted in The Game and The Viper being left motionless on the canvas.

Randy Orton def. Ted DiBiase by Disqualification.
The axis of evil is officially kaput. At WWE Elimination Chamber, when Ted DiBiase nailed Randy Orton in the head with a lead pipe, the Legacy ringleader appeared to forgive the “accident.” When the two teamed with Legacy henchman Cody Rhodes, however, The Viper struck, heading off a devious attack from his followers, leaving his followers motionless both in and out of the ring.

Now that all the cards are on the table, there’s no more “accidents” waiting to happen. As Orton battled DiBiase in singles action, Rhodes shot in to help his friend and partner. The save, however, disqualified DiBiase. While The Viper momentarily savored the victory, he found himself on his heels when his former pupils attacked him after the match. After suffering a series of boots to the torso, Orton managed to flip the script on Rhodes & DiBiase, who fled from the ring. They'll have a chance at redemption next week when they face off against The Viper in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

Randy Orton Signs A 10-Year Contract.

Randy Orton has signed a new long-term contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, reportedly for ten years. He also received a $600,000 payday for working the main event of last year's WrestleMania pay-per-view.

Cody Rhodes def. Randy Orton.
Cody Rhodes had to know it was coming. After his interference cost Randy Orton the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, Rhodes knew his comeuppance wasn’t a matter of if but when. And that question was answered abruptly when The Viper informed his Legacy protégé that the two would face each other in a singles match.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the beat-down: Rhodes actually won. Whether planned with Rhodes’ knowledge or not, WWE Champion Sheamus distracted The Viper long enough for the Legacy henchman to wrap up Orton for the win.

The Irishman then climbed into the ring and dropped a dazed Orton with a kick to the face. As Sheamus moved in for more, though, Rhodes actually came to the Legacy ringleader’s defense, sending Sheamus walking.

Guest host Carl Edwards arranged singles matches for Elimination Chamber participants on next week’s Raw.
NASCAR driver Carl Edwards knows that before you slam the gas pedal to the floor, you have to let the engine warm up. Perhaps that’s why, as guest host, Edwards arranged for the six Superstars competing in the Elimination Chamber in two weeks to battle each other in singles matches before hitting terminal velocity. As a result, next Monday night, WWE Champion Sheamus will face Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston will battle Ted DiBiase and John Cena will clash with Triple H.

Randy Orton def. Shawn Michaels in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match.
With one clear path to The Undertaker denied, Shawn Michaels hoped to take the road less traveled by first prevailing in the evening’s third Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. Unfortunately for him, Randy Orton was acting as toll collector. Combating an obsessive yearning for a WrestleMania rematch with the World Heavyweight Champion, HBK came up short against The Viper, who was undoubtedly still steaming over his loss to WWE Champion Sheamus the night before.

Backstage after the match, Ted DiBiase Jr. confronted Randy. He told him he couldn't speak for Cody, but he was sorry for the night before. Randy said nothing & walked away from Ted.

Winner & still WWE Champion: Sheamus by DQ when Cody Rhodes came from the audience & hit Sheamus.
After the match: Randy was visibly angry as Cody got in the ring to apologize. Randy then attacked Cody, which caused Ted DiBiase Jr. to run down to pull Randy off of Cody. Randy the proceeded to attack both of them, just before getting a boot to the face from Sheamus.

WWE Champion Sheamus def. Evan Bourne.
WWE Champion Sheamus continues to punctuate his matches with exclamation points of pain. This week, The Celtic Warrior once again faced Evan Bourne, who wanted a rematch after losing to Sheamus two weeks ago.

The match took on an ominous undercurrent as Randy Orton, who will challenge Sheamus in a title match at Royal Rumble, observed from outside the ring. Unfortunately for Bourne, the Irishman seemed intent on sending a message as he destroyed his opponent for the victory and cast an intensely defiant glare at The Viper.

Turn about is fair play. And since Randy Orton looked on as WWE Champion Sheamus battled Evan Bourne earlier in the night, it seemed only fitting for The Celtic Warrior to look on as The Viper clashed with Chris Masters. The No. 1 contender for the Irishman’s title managed to best Masters’ size and strength for the win. That’s when he realized how determined his Royal Rumble opponent can be.

Sheamus climbed into the ring and nailed The Viper’s face with his massive boot, leaving Orton motionless on the canvas.

Backstage, Randy Orton offered to kick Bret Hart in the skull in exchange of being put in the Royal Rumble as entrant number 30, but an angry Mr. McMahon told Randy that everything Bret did to him was nothing compared to what Randy did to him & his family. Vince turned down Randy's offer.

Last Monday, Randy Orton gave his Legacy charges, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, an ultimatum: Win your match or be barred from the group. This week, the Legacy ringleader was forced to choke down a spoonful of his own medicine. Earlier in the evening, Rhodes & DiBiase confronted their mentor and told him that if he lost his match against Kofi Kingston, he would be booted from the group.

With Rhodes & DiBiase looking on at ringside, The Viper clashed with Kingston in a rivalry that has boiled over several times in the past. On this occasion, though, Orton would prevail, perhaps in part due to a bit of unexpected incentive.

The Kofi Kingston-Randy Orton rivalry has seen nearly everything.

Numerous blindsided attacks: Check
Vicious taunts and terrorization: Check
Defacing of a personalized NASCAR: Check (WATCH)
Execution of a Boom Drop in the stands: Check (WATCH)

Expect this list to grow, nonetheless, when two of the most ferocious combatants and impassioned rivals collide once again at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

In addition to it being extraordinarily intense, Kingston and The Viper’s confrontation has also been very competitive. At Survivor Series, Kingston was the sole survivor when he pinned Orton to finish off The Viper’s troop. A couple weeks later on Raw, the former WWE Champion got some much-desired revenge when his cohorts, The Legacy, deviously assaulted their animated enemy to help Orton secure a victory.

AT WWE TLC, however, the vivacious Superstar should be completely aware of the kind of conniving tactics The Viper is capable of achieving. From watching out for interference from Cody Rhodes or Ted DiBiase to safeguarding against other crafty maneuvers from his opponent, Kingston appears fully prepared for this highly anticipated bout.

The winner of this contest, moreover, will almost certainly raise their stock in their respective quests to become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Title. Orton, for one, has already made several demands to recent special guest hosts on Raw, including Gov. Jesse Ventura, that he deserves another opportunity at the gold. His WWE TLC adversary, meanwhile, has battled his way to the top of the rankings.

It remains to be seen what new drama will be added to this riveting rivalry, but one thing is for sure, the WWE Universe does not want to miss this match, or any of the highly coveted contests at WWE TLC.

Cuban announced Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston tonight.
Who could blame Mark Cuban if he held a grudge? After all, it was Randy Orton who administered a vicious RKO to Cuban at Survivor Series 2003. Paybacks, as they say, are … well, they’re not very fun.

Despite protestations from The Viper, Cuban refused to lift the ban on him competing for another championship match as long as Cena holds the title. Not only that, the Mavs owner then insisted that Orton face his nemesis, Kofi Kingston, later that night after The Viper and Legacy attacked The Dreadlock Dynamo last week. Oh, and one more thing: To keep things clean, Cuban will act as special guest referee.

On the court and in the ring, the men in the black-and-white stripes are both judge and jury. Which is why, when Randy Orton faced Kofi Kingston, one of the last people he wanted to see wearing the zebra attire was Mark Cuban. Six years earlier, Orton RKO’d the Dallas Mavericks owner during Survivor Series – and Cuban never forgot it.

During the match, Kofi pushed Orton’s shoulders to canvas, but before The Viper had a chance to kick out, Cuban served up a cold dish of quick count, allowing Kofi the win. To make matters worse for Orton, Cuban then announced that The Viper must face The Dreadlock Dynamo in six days at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs.

Special guest host Gov. Jesse Ventura announced Breakthrough Battle Royal.
Whether as a WWE Hall of Famer, the Governor of Minnesota or the host of truTV’s upcoming Conspiracy Theory, Jesse Ventura has always proven himself an iconoclast, a man predictable only in his unpredictability.

Ventura hewed close to form when he dropped by Raw to serve as special guest host. Confronted by Randy Orton demanding a WWE Title Match, Ventura informed The Viper that neither he nor anyone who has possessed the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship would be granted title opportunities.

In fact, Ventura devised the first ever Breakthrough Battle Royal, in which a series of bouts would be held between members of Raw and SmackDown who never held a World Title. The winners of these bouts will then participate in the Breakthrough Battle Royal with the winner earning a either a WWE or World Heavyweight Championship Match.

Like a spoiled child, Randy Orton simply won’t take “no” for an answer. In a desperate attempt to qualify for the Breakthrough Battle Royal, The Viper attacked Primo as the Boriqua brawler made his way to the ring for his qualifying match against Evan Bourne.

As a result, Primo was unable to compete. After consent by special guest host Gov. Jesse Ventura, it was Orton who battled Bourne. Unfortunately for the aerial artist, The Viper proved too much to handle as he slithered into a qualifying position.

With each having earned their spot in the first-ever Breakthrough Battle Royal, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, MVP, Mark Henry, R-Truth, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase each appeared focused on what could prove to many to be the opportunity of their careers. Whichever Superstar emerged victorious would compete in either a WWE or World Heavyweight Championship Match.

On Raw, Kofi Kingston has proven time and time again that he is one of the most exciting young ring warriors in WWE, and is truly a Superstar to watch. But in our nation’s capital, he’ll have one of the biggest matches of his career as he and his team go up against the squad of Randy Orton in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match.

Though Orton may be more experienced than Kingston, the athletic Superstar has shown in recent weeks that he has exactly what it takes to hit The Viper where it hurts. As retaliation for Orton viciously attacking him after a match, Kingston sought out his nemesis’ personalized NASCAR racer and defaced it while The Legend Killer looked on, helpless to stop the automotive carnage. The two’s rivalry then expanded during a Six-Man Tag Team Match on Raw when Kingston and Orton were joined by fellow Survivor Series combatants, MVP & Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, respectively.

In addition to R-Truth on the side of Kingston and the devious CM Punk teaming up with Orton, two of the top competitors in the Land of the Extreme, ECW Champion Christian and William Regal are also joining the fray. For months, The British Brawler has struggled to get the upperhand against Captain Charisma, and he might just have that chance when he joins up with Team Orton to face the ECW Champion and the rest of Team Kingston in a 10-Man Tag Team Match.

Montel Vontavious Porter, with Mark Henry at his side, welcomed the captain of their Survivor Series team, Kofi Kingston, to his VIP Lounge. The three toasted Kingston’s fortitude in standing up to Randy Orton over the past several weeks.

Not surprisingly, The Viper took issue. As captain of the opposing Survivor Series team, Orton, with Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase in tow, confronted Kingston and his pals. After The Viper offended the trio, Kingston had heard enough. He slapped Orton across the face and showed that he’s not about to be bullied.

A slap at the hand of Kofi Kingston may have been all the incentive Randy Orton needed in his match against Mark Henry. The former WWE Champion battled The World’s Strongest Man in a match that saw both Superstars on the verge of victory. In the end, The Viper struck Henry and pinned him for the three-count.

Never one to swallow his pride easily, Orton ambushed Kingston as he attended to Henry. The Viper returned a slap he’d received earlier, but Kingston quickly returned fire before Orton could dart outside the ring.

As part of Team Raw at WWE Bragging Rights, Kofi Kingston found himself subject to the betrayal of Big Show, which led to Chris Jericho pinning Kofi for the “W.” With his match against Jericho, Kofi would get an opportunity at redemption. That opportunity was not wasted. The dreadlocked dynamo nailed his arrogant opponent with a series of athletic strikes to seize the win. For Kofi, though, the real pain surfaced after the match when Randy Orton attacked him.

The trouble began the night before at WWE Bragging Rights when Kofi chased off Orton’s Legacy henchmen, who were attempting to wound John Cena during the pair’s One Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match. During Raw, The Viper slithered away but not before inflicting some venomous blows to Kofi.

A distraught Randy Orton emerged to pleaded the case that he should be granted a rematch. Instead, the man he attacked earlier in the evening, Kofi Kingston, popped up on the TitanTron with revenge flickering in his eyes. Kofi stood in the arena’s parking garage next to a customized race car Orton received earlier in the night from Rhodes & DiBiase. Despite The Viper’s protestations, Kofi proceeded to destroy the brand new car with a key, a crowbar and some paint.

Don’t let Snoop Dogg fool you. The rapper/actor has kicked out a trunk full of thick, laid back beats over the years and has played some mellow characters on the big screen, but he was all business in his role as Raw’s special guest host.

Snoop reiterated that John Cena’s battle with Triple H may be his final match on Raw, that is if Cena loses to WWE Champion Randy Orton at WWE Bragging Rights. Wanting to go down as the “greatest guest host of all time,” Snoop also arranged for Orton to face Ted DiBiase, the protégé who pinned The Viper the week prior. For good measure, the rapper/actor set up a bout pitting Team SmackDown co-captain Chris Jericho against Team Raw co-captain Shawn Michaels.

While the young Superstar initially seemed unwilling to voluntarily surrender in the ring, in the end, DiBiase did just that, allowing Orton to RKO him for the victory.

Triple H sure knows how to rub it in. Eight days after punishing his Hell in a Cell opponents, The Legacy, the DX destroyer pitted Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase against one another in a Triple Threat WWE Bragging Rights Qualifying Match to determine who will join Team Raw. Oh, and the third Superstar in the ring? None other than John Cena.

Despite having to face off against his trusted partner, Cody Rhodes nonetheless put aside his loyalties in order to seize a spot on Team Raw for WWE Bragging Rights. The young Rhodes even pinned his Legacy partner Ted DiBiase, as the third man in the Triple Threat Match, John Cena, found himself distracted by his WWE Bragging Rights opponent, WWE Champion Randy Orton.

After the contentious bout, DiBiase appeared so irate that he nearly exchanged blows with his partner. That was hardly the only surprise. Special guest host Nancy O’Dell shocked the foursome when she announced a Tag Team Match for later in the evening: Rhodes & DiBiase would face Cena and his partner, Randy Orton!

In an unbelievable turn of events, Ted DiBiase seized a perfect opportunity to teach his mentor, WWE Champion Randy Orton, a lesson. DiBiase teamed with his Legacy partner Cody Rhodes against Orton and Orton’s WWE Bragging Rights opponent, John Cena. The younger alliance held their own in a surprisingly physical match in which Orton had refused to tag out his partner, essentially allowing the bout to become a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. While the two “partners” attempted to outmaneuver one another, Cena finally managed to lift DiBiase for an Attitude Adjustment.

That’s when Orton kicked, hinting at a 3-on-1 pummeling. DiBiase, however, had other ideas. The young Superstar, who has maintained a contentious relationship with his mentor, instead seized the opportunity to pin Orton for the three-count. As Rhodes & DiBiase quickly headed up the exit ramp, The Viper seethed. His troubles, though, were not finished. Cena grabbed his WWE Bragging Rights opponent and administered a particularly brutal Attitude Adjustment to punctuate Orton’s nightmare.

One night after Randy Orton won the WWE Championship back within Satan’s Structure at Hell in a Cell, The Viper accepted John Cena’s challenge to defend his gold at WWE Bragging Rights in a 60-minute Anything Goes Iron Man Match.

With the modification that there will be no disqualifications and no count-outs in their WWE Bragging Rights bout, the two men will tear into each other trying to accumulate as many pinfalls and submissions in the allotted time. The man with the most decisions in the end will be declared the victor and walk out as WWE Champion in what both men have agreed to be their final battle – meaning no rematch for either man no matter what happens and if Cena loses, he must leave Raw.

For months, Cena and Orton have waged war, and what the WWE Iron Man Match will do is take the hatred both these men have for each other, and use it to determine a decisive winner between the two.

Already having faced one another in a series of bouts including an “I Quit” Match and a Hell in a Cell Match this year, these men have become quite familiar with one another in the ring. Though Orton has prevailed in three out of four of the aforementioned bouts, throughout their storied careers, the two men hold a 5-5 record against one another in all-time pay-per-view matches.

To date, the WWE Iron Man Match has only come into play a handful of times, including the classic match-up pitting Shawn Michaels against Bret Hart at WrestleMania XII. As any man who has done battle in one of these legendary bouts can tell you, this ultimate test of endurance is not for the faint of heart.

Less than 24 hours after capturing the WWE Title from John Cena at Hell in a Cell, new champion Randy Orton wasted no time bragging dismissively to the WWE Universe. For his part, Cena wasn’t about to let The Viper get away with it. After poking at Orton’s ego, the WWE Champion relented and agreed to meet Cena one last time in a 60-minute Anything Goes Iron Man Match at WWE Bragging Rights, a pay-per-view that will also feature a brand tag team match with Superstars from Raw facing off against Superstars from SmackDown. It became clear early on in WWE Champion John Cena’s 3-on-1 Gauntlet Match that his opponents cared nothing about sportsmanship and fair play and everything about hurting and punishing the man who carries the title. With just six days until he defends that title at WWE Hell in a Cell, Cena faced Chris Jericho, Big Show and Randy Orton.

During his first of three matches, Cena found himself trapped in The Walls of Jericho but managed to grasp the ropes. Jericho, however, would not relent even as the referee admonished him, resulting in a disqualification for one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions.

Still nursing his pain, Cena unearthed the courage to face Show. While The World’s Largest Athlete began by quickly pummeling The Champ, Cena’s determination could not be dampened and he slowly turned the tables on Show until Jericho climbed back into the ring to punish Cena. That’s when the other half of the Unified Tag Team Champions got disqualified and attempted to snap Cena’s back with a Camel Clutch Backbreaker.

Orton would prove to be the final hurdle. The Viper entered the ring to find a seemingly incapacitated Cena. The easy prey, however, would prove more wily than wounded. Cena asked for the Hell in a Cell structure to be lowered, hoping to prevent Orton’s escape. While The Viper eventually managed to slither outside, a resolute Cena followed closely. Eventually, The Champ chased Orton atop Satan’s Structure, where he completed his gauntlet run with a wicked Attitude Adjustment and set foot along the long, blistering path to Hell.

During a WWE Hell in a Cell contract signing, Randy Orton & Unified Tag Team Champs Chris Jericho & Big Show confronted WWE Champ John Cena, MVP & Mark Henry; the two sides will face off in main event.
Some men resort to sly, underhanded and treacherous tricks to achieve their goals. Other men prepare themselves for just such deceit. Such was the case when Randy Orton and WWE Champion John Cena met in the ring to sign the contracts for their WWE Hell in a Cell Match. After emphasizing the fact that Cena has never competed in a Hell in a Cell bout, Orton ushered out Unified Tag Team Champs Chris Jericho & Big Show, who promptly surrounded The Champ. Cena, however, had backup.

MVP & Mark Henry rolled up to show their allegiance to Cena. As the six glared intently at one another, guest host Cedric the Entertainer informed them that despite a “no physicality” clause in the pair’s contract, the comedian was going to waive the rule and arrange a match between the two groups at the end of the evening.

The stakes were plenty high before any of the six Superstars set foot in the ring. The arrogant Superstar informed Orton that the loser of the match – either Orton or Cena – would be forced to compete in a 3-on-1 Gauntlet Match next week; Orton would face Cena, MVP & Henry, while Cena must compete against Orton, Jericho & Show.

As the match got underway, each team seemed bent on proving dominance, especially the two men with the most at stake. As a result, Orton was not about to relinquish any advantage he may acquire so close to WWE Hell in a Cell. With that, The Viper struck, administering an RKO to Henry to claim victory for his team and ensuring that next Monday night, Cena will be staring into the blinding headlights of three runaway tractor trailers each barreling furiously in his direction.

Batista tricked Orton; announced move to SmackDown, No Holds Barred Match for Raw.
The Animal is back! While no stranger to injuries – the five-time World Champion has suffered through excruciating tears in his biceps, triceps and hamstrings – Batista appeared in the ring showing evidence of his latest wound, his arm cradled in a sling. Running through his list of injuries and impressive career accomplishments, Batista informed the WWE Universe that he was prepared to hang up his boots.

Perhaps sensing weakness, Randy Orton, the man responsible for The Animal’s most recent physical crisis, confronted Batista, taunting him for “quitting.” The tables, however, would soon be turned.

As The Viper hissed insults toward Batista, The Animal smiled and shed his sling to reveal that he was actually healthy. After serving up a well-deserved pounding to Orton, Batista then made two announcements: 1) He will be moving to Smackdown, and 2) Thanks to Raw guest host Trish Stratus, he will face down Orton in a No Holds Barred Match.

After months of arduous rehab, Batista seemed eager to shake off any ring rust that may have accumulated by testing himself in the squared circle against one of WWE’s most imposing Superstars, Randy Orton, in a No Holds Barred Match. The Animal, in his last match on Raw before heading to SmackDown, appeared to be operating at full capacity when he met face-to-face with the man who put him on the shelf for months. Batista’s trademark aggression was put on view against Orton, who seemed dazed by the offensive.

In fact, The Viper appeared so baffled that he slithered from the ring and headed toward the exit ramp. His exodus, however, would prove premature. Blocking Orton’s escape stood WWE Champion John Cena, who had claimed the WWE Title from Orton less than 24 hours earlier. Cena corralled Orton back into the waiting arms of The Animal, who swiftly crushed Orton and left him lying prone in the ring.

In the locker room area, Bob Barker gave DX an opportunity to spin the wheel in order to determine their opponents for tonight. As luck would have it, the unique combination of WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters came up, giving Triple H & Shawn Michaels reason to smile. The duo was more than happy about an opportunity to inflict some punishment on The Legacy leader before they face Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase in a Submissions Count Anywhere Match at WWE Breaking Point on Sunday.

D-Generation X def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Chris Masters.
Despite having never teamed before, The Viper’s viciousness and Masters’ brute strength made a great combination. Yet, in the end, HBK forced The Masterpiece to tap out to give DX the victory. The night didn’t end there, however. The Legacy then rushed to the ring and brawled with DX all the way to the locker room area before retreating from the arena in a stolen car.

In the ring, Randy Orton grabbed the microphone and told the WWE Universe that he will leave WWE Breaking Point with his championship. This arrogant announcement caused John Cena to rush to the ring to confront Orton. The two men quickly traded blows before Orton laid the 12 Rounds star out with a brutal DDT. The Viper then showed how vicious he can be by delivering an RKO to Cena onto a steel chair. As Raw came to a close, Orton stood over Cena’s fallen body and vowed to make him quit on Sunday.

Raw’s special guest host, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, announced a WWE Title Match between champion Randy Orton and "The American Dream’s" son, Cody Rhodes.
Once the dancing and gyrating WWE Legend made his way to the ring and quieted down the WWE Universe in attendance, Rhodes announced that though he recognizes that his son, Cody, is arrogant, the second-generation ring warrior is well on his way to becoming a star. To prove his point, "The American Dream" set a WWE Championship Match as the night’s main event, in which his son will challenge his mentor Randy Orton for one of WWE’s most coveted titles.

To make the contest even more interesting, the Hall of Famer announced that he would be in his son’s corner as the No. 1 contender to the WWE Title, John Cena, acted as guest referee. This shocking decision lured out not only The Viper, but also Cody Rhodes, who stood side-by-side with his father in defiance of the leader of The Legacy.

Before Raw’s main event between WWE Champion Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes could begin, special guest host Dusty Rhodes reminded John Cena and the WWE Universe that there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his son. Following his declaration, both Orton and Cody Rhodes turned on The Viper’s WWE Breaking Point opponent. The third member of Legacy then joined his associates in attacking Cena.

The treacherous act got the attention of D-Generation X, however, who rushed to the ring in spite of the three-on-two odds. After Dusty Rhodes clobbered Triple H with his boot, the multi-generational Superstars got the best of DX. But as Legacy stood proud over Cena, The Game and HBK, yet another double-cross occurred, with Orton hitting Hall of Famer Rhodes with a lightning-quick RKO. Though Cody Rhodes was initially angry about The Viper’s attack on his father, he reluctantly fell in line.

Less than 24 hours after Randy Orton squeezed out a victory in Los Angeles at SummerSlam, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon announced that the WWE Champion would again defend his title against John Cena at WWE Breaking Point, except this time in an “I Quit” Match.

This declaration didn’t come out of thin air though, as just before The Chairman made his entrance, Orton and The Legacy revealed that the “fan” who interfered the previous night at SummerSlam was actually Ted DiBiase’s brother Brett.

Although The Legend Killer claims that he had no prior knowledge of Brett’s attack, he did reiterate for Cena that he was still champion. This didn’t seem to sit too well with Mr. McMahon.

So, whether Orton knew the younger DiBiase was at ringside or not doesn’t matter now, as at Breaking Point, it will be an “I Quit” Match between The Viper and the 12 Rounds star. The added stipulation is if anyone attempts to interfere in the match on The Legend Killer's side, Orton will be stripped of his title. The WWE Champion will have no underhanded tactics that will be able to get him out of this one.

In reality, there will be only one Superstar walking out of Montreal as WWE Champion, and that man will be the one who can take his opponent to the limit, inflict as much damage on them as possible and send them past their Breaking Point.

Who will be the one uttering the dreaded words “I Quit”? The only way to find out is by tuning into WWE Breaking Point emanating from the Bell Centre in Montreal on Sunday, Sept. 13, live on pay-per-view.

One of the fun parts about throwing a great party is getting together the next day to talk about how everything went down. Well, SummerSlam is no different. WWE Champion Randy Orton, along with his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase were all too eager to discuss one of the wildest celebrations of the year.

As Orton patted himself on the back for retaining the gold in a match that saw a fan charge the ring and interrupt the bout, DiBiase revealed that the “fan” in question was actually his younger brother, Brett. While the revelation prompted the entire WWE Universe to offer a collective “Hmmm,” Orton claimed he would have won without Brett’s interference. Mr. McMahon, however, wasn’t so convinced.

The Chairman announced that not only would Raw celebrity guest host Floyd “Money” Mayweather be arriving later in the evening, but that Orton would be forced to defend his title against Cena in three weeks in an “I Quit” Match at WWE’s newest pay-per-view, WWE Breaking Point, in which each Superstar must win by submission. And if anyone interferes during this bout, Orton will be stripped of the title. (Match preview)

Before he could leave, however, The Chairman was stopped by his longtime antagonists, DX. Triple H & Shawn Michaels did not let the opportunity pass to razz Mr. McMahon, who was celebrating his 64th birthday. During an extravagant Las Vegas ribbing, however, they were attacked by the tag team they had defeated the night before at SummerSlam, Rhodes & DiBiase.

The strike angered DX enough to prompt The Game to announce a main event No Disqualification Match pitting Orton & Legacy against DX and … Mr. McMahon!

(My results) Backstage, Randy told Cody & Ted that they could redeem themselves for what happened at SummerSlam, & that when he kicked Vince in the skull, he won't come back. He stated the Vince wants to make an "I Quit" match at Breaking Point, but it would be the last match he ever made.

For many, it felt as if they were watching dogs snuggling with cats, the Boston Red Sox high-fiving the New York Yankees or Britney Spears reuniting with reality. Only this was even stranger: Mr. McMahon paired with his longtime tormentors DX in the ring. While the coupling was certainly unprecedented, it was also successful. Although The Chairman and his teammates had never fought together before, they were cohesive enough to hold their own and chase Orton from the ring.

As Orton tried to slither up the ramp to safety, his path was obstructed when John Cena entered. With nowhere to run, Orton clamored back into the ring, where HBK offered up Sweet Chin Music. Then, it was Cena’s turn. Avenging his underhanded loss from the night before, Orton’s SummerSlam opponent took the opportunity to administer a well-deserved Attitude Adjustment, allowing Mr. McMahon to pin The Viper for the three-count.

St. Louis Son Randy Orton On Life In (And Out Of) The Ring.

Hazelwood Central grad Randy Orton returns home to headline WWE Monday Night Raw. We spoke with him about growing up in St. Louis and his life inside and outside the ring.

• What is your favorite memory growing up in St. Louis? One of my favorite memories is going to downtown, Forest Park with my family. Shaw is good. Walking around the zoo. The Art Museum with my grandma. Growing up in St. Louis was a lot of fun. On the Fourth of July we would go to the (James J. Eagan Center) Florissant Valley Civic Center in North County to watch the fireworks display every year. ... A lot of fun times back then.

• Do you get the celebrity treatment when you are home? The past year, I’ve had the daughter, and before that my wife was pregnant. I’ve been with my wife, Samantha, for quite a while. I really kind of hang low whenever we do choose to go out. Usually there are a couple of clubs downtown that are pretty nice to me. As far as getting recognized, I live in St. Charles. I get recognized quite a bit around there but it’s not like I go and try to get recognized. ... A couple of years ago, going to Six Flags with my wife, it was hard. We got on three or four rides in a span of six hours because it was so many kids stopping (me) to get autographs. I enjoy what I do. It’s a part of what I do.

• How has fatherhood changed your professional and personal life? It’s put a lot of things in perspective. Everyone said when my wife was pregnant, "Wait til you have that little girl. It’s going to change your life." You hear that and you don’t really know until the day she’s born, and that’s when it hit me. When I saw the little baby and when she looked up at me and heard my voice and (I said), "Wow, I made this little human being and I’m responsible for it." I have to set a good example. I have to be a good father. ... It really made me mature very quickly and realize I have to step up and be not only a good husband to my wife but a great father. I think I’m doing that, accomplishing that goal of mine, and I would like to have more (kids) in the future. I would like to have a big family. I love my daughter. ... On a personal level, she’s made me understand what life is all about. It’s made me more excited to get home and see how she’s progressed and what she’s learned to do. ... I always wanted a little girl so bad, so I’m very blessed that I got my wish.

• Are you a sports fan? I wish I could say yes. I honestly don’t follow any sports, even though we've got the Rams, Blues and Cardinals. I hate to say, I don’t really have time. It’s not that I don’t appreciate or like sports. I was active in sports growing up but can’t say I've got the time for (sports). I’m proud of my teams when they are doing good. Can’t say I’m too happy about the Rams season the last year. A former Rams player, J.R. Niklos, is a good friend of mine. His wife and my wife were good friends from high school. They went to Francis Howell. Pisa Tinoisamoa, who just got released — is going to play for the Bears — lives right down the street from me. We wave and stuff. Besides that, not too involved with the St. Louis sports scene or sports in general.

• Favorite St. Louis athlete or moment? When Mark McGwire was (chasing Roger Maris’ home run record) I would definitely keep tabs on him, how many home runs he was hitting, breaking the record -- that was exciting. If there was someone I had to pick that I followed St. Louis-wise it would have been McGwire. When the Rams won the Super Bowl with Kurt Warner. When he led the Rams to a victory that year, that was pretty exciting. Of course, the Cardinals winning the championship was pretty exciting as well. But like I said, (professional athletes) have an off season, I don’t. Us WWE superstars travel year-round. We are overseas constantly. I was just doing an interview for upcoming European tour later in the fall. It’s go, go, go. I get about two days at home a week with my wife and my baby. It’s not enough but I do enjoy what I do. My wife supports me, and I’m sure my little daughter will understand when she gets a little older.

• What was it like growing up a son of a wrestler, "Cowboy" Bob Orton? Growing up, being around my father and his buddies in the business like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Junk Yard Dog, Hillbilly Jim, Greg Valentine, Roddy Piper, you name it, anyone back then in that era that wrestled, I was mixing it up with them in the locker room. I was young when I was on the road with my dad — 5, 6, 7 — but it was when he was in his prime with the WWF, at the time. It was a lot of fun. A few of the second- and third-generation wrestlers have similar stories, but for the most part not a lot of guys grew up in the business like we did. There are a lot of cool moments like Jake "The Snake" Roberts’ python, messing around with it back in the locker room. Or Junk Yard Dog chasing me with the broom down the hallway. Brett Hart watching me. He was the designated babysitter while my father was in the ring. I will always remember those times.

• Besides your father, who is your favorite wrestler? I was a big fan of Jake "The Snake." I always had a fascination with snakes and reptiles. I always wanted to be a herpetologist. I had a 13-foot vermisse python when I was in high school. It weighed 90 pounds. It ate rabbits and large rats. A little of an oddball hobby. Jake "The Snake" started my curiosity with that and because he always had the big python in the burlap bag in the back. I was always big into playing with the snake when they came into town.

• Your dream match opponent and why? I say that everyone I’ve wanted to work with, I’ve gotten the opportunity to. Hulk Hogan in SummerSlam, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H. ... These guys that I watched were at the top of there game. When I got in the business, I never thought in a million years that I would be wrestling Triple H in the main event at WrestleMania. I never thought I would be wrestling Undertaker at WrestleMania XXI, let alone The Rock at WrestleMania XX, Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XXII. I have so many memories of wrestling guys that I dreamt to wrestling. Really, there is no more. My dad was on the road with me for six months back in 2005 and 2006, and I was able to wrestle with him in my corner. I’ve never wrestled against my father. I would say my father would be one of the ones that, if I could turn back the clock, I would be able to wrestle him in his prime and a pretty good match. I think that would be very cool, but obviously it won’t happen. I did get the pleasure of working with him in the ring.

• If you weren’t a wrestler, what would you be? I think I would be a stunt man, if not a herpetologist. Working at the zoo in the reptile house, like I said, fascinated me when I was a child. If I didn’t get into wrestling I would be a stunt man. I’m big into movies, I like watching movies, I would like to be in movies one day. That’s another dream of mine is to get a part, no matter how big or small. I’ve read for two or three parts. Gotten close to getting them. I just read for a part with Drew Barrymore. A very small part in an upcoming movie. I didn’t get it. They said the character they wanted had to be little more burly, a little more roughneck. They said I was too handsome. I guess they didn’t want to be rude and let me down easy, but either way, I didn’t get the part. ... Here in the WWE there is a great avenue for getting parts in movies. WWE has their own film production company, of course, with "12 Rounds," "The Marine" movie, "Behind Enemy Lines" starring Ken Kennedy. There is a good chance that you’ll see me on the big screen sooner or later.

• What major injuries have you sustained during your career in the ring? Broken foot, dislocated bones in my foot, broken clavicle twice, major surgery on both shoulders, six concussions. You’re always walking around with some kind of a pain. You land on your back quite a bit, obviously, lots of visits to the chiropractor. Lots of deep-tissue massages. Lots physical therapy on the surgeries that I’ve had. It’s a constant battle to stay healthy and stay in shape. In this business, your body is your money. Edge just tore his Achilles tendon. That’s huge. That’s like a nine-month injury. He’s also had a broken neck and neck surgery. He was out for over a year. Things like that -- you just never know. Any match can literally be your last match any time you step in the ring. You always have to conscious of how well you are physically and mentally. What we do mentally -- it’s very taxing, as well. It’s a constant stress on the body to do what we do not only in the ring, but outside the ring because you are constantly in the gym, watching your diet, and the travel takes a lot out of you, too. ... I’ve had my share of injuries. I know Chris Jericho hasn’t had been hurt. He might have broken his forearm earlier in his career but he’s been (wrestling) for twenty years. Some guys get lucky and get a couple of injuries. Some guys are injury prone. ... My in-ring style isn’t the most dangerous. Someone like Evan Bourne -- he jumps up the top rope and does the Shooting Star Press, and of course he weighs 150 pounds. I’m 100 pounds heavier than he is but still, the death-defying stuff they’re doing, I would never be able to do that kind of thing. And even if I could, it’s the type of thing I’ve taken out of my repertoire so that I can be able to have longevity in my career. That’s what it’s about, supporting my family, paying the bills. Being there for my family and being able to provide.

• How would you like to be remembered after you retire? We’ll have to wait and see. I’m just getting started. I’m in my prime — so hopefully good things. Just that I worked hard and be a household name -- if not already -- and by then, they’ll say I’m one of the greatest.

• How many days of the year are you on the road? Over 200. At least 220 to 250. I have about 200 matches a year.

• Forecast your main event match against John Cena at SummerSlam. I’ve wrestled John Cena a couple of times. We have some history, and he is a hell of a competitor. He is one of the strongest guys I’ve stepped in the ring. Pound for pound, I think he is the strongest. The way he trains, his discipline, he keeps getting better every year. The fan following -- he has is incomparable to anyone else. ... I have Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes at my corner. I know they are not afraid to stick their necks out on the line for me. I’m confident in the fact that I will beat John Cena at SummerSlam and remain WWE champion. I’ve been going strong since April at Backlash when I kicked Triple H in the face and put him out for six weeks. I beat Triple H in a Last Man Standing match. I beat him in a Three Stages of Hell match, which ended with me putting him on a stretcher and pushing over the finish line. I’ve been going strong and my momentum has me at a point where that’s the one thing I have on my side.

• Rick Flair or Hulk Hogan? I would have to say Flair because I know Flair a lot better. On a personal level, he’s taught me a lot. Of course, Hogan is a huge name and has made a lots of money, but I think Flair has a little more respect from wrestling fans because of his work ethic. As far as what he’s been able to do in the ring, and the following he’s had, sure, Hogan and Hulkamania will be around forever but Flair’s legacy will never die. Knowing (Flair) on a personal level and how much he helped me in the business, I could never deny that.

• What should fans expect from "Monday Night Raw" in St. Louis? This is my hometown, and I have to represent St. Louis to the fullest. I always have, always will. Monday won’t be any different. All of us put our bodies on the line to entertain. When it comes to overall entertainment, you can’t get this kind of a mix of different emotions in one night. In that two-hour time, whether you attend Raw or watch it at home, you walk in and it’s incomparable to anything else. I don’t care if it’s the Cardinals or the Rams or the Blues, I don’t care how well or bad their season is, they get an off season. We don’t. We are going hard all year. For me, it’s been nine years and I’m going to keep going hard. When they attend the show or watch it on TV, they are going to get nothing less than 110 percent from each and every one of us.

Raw special guest host Sgt. Slaughter arranged two main event matches: Big Show vs. Randy Orton and Chris Jericho vs. John Cena.
WWE Champion Randy Orton tried on his professor’s cap when Monday Night Raw touched down in the Great White North. Orton confronted his SummerSlam opponent, John Cena, with a little history lesson. Namely, The Viper reminded Cena how he had defeated him in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXV and, more recently, at Night of Champions.

For his part, Cena proved no teacher’s pet. The former Champ exchanged pointed words with Orton until they were interrupted by the Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho & Big Show. The two bragged about how they had convinced Raw’s guest host, Sgt. Slaughter, to arrange two main event matches: Big Show vs. Orton and Chris Jericho vs. John Cena.

Randy Orton may be conniving, devious and underhanded, but he’s no dummy. The WWE Champion had been scheduled to battle Big Show in one of the night’s two main events. The Viper, however, thought better of facing off against The World’s Largest Athlete and risk injury with less than two weeks until one of the most important matches of his career against John Cena at SummerSlam. Instead, after suffering a beating at the meaty paws of Show, Orton, in a calculated move, exited the ring and walked off, allowing the angered giant the victory by count-out.

John Cena def. Chris Jericho by disqualification.
Perhaps hoping to boost his standing with his fellow Canucks, Chris Jericho wanted to accomplish something in front of them he’d never done before; defeat John Cena. Well, that quest went about as far as a moose on a motorcycle. As one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions, Jericho certainly held his own against Cena. Unfortunately for him, though, Randy Orton wanted to send a message to his SummerSlam opponent and interfered in the bout by attacking Jericho. The intrusion triggered an immediate disqualification and also prompted Big Show to rush to the ring to chokeslam Orton, leaving both he and Cena lying on the canvas.

The pandemonium led Raw guest host Sgt. Slaughter to interrupt the proceedings to announce that next week, not only will Freddie Prinze Jr. act as Raw’s celebrity guest host, Cena & Orton must combine forces to face Show & Jericho. As if to demonstrate their uneasy alliance, Cena & Orton immediately joined together to collar The World’s Largest Athlete and send him over the ropes. The cooperation was quickly followed by looks of apprehension on the faces of both Superstars. Will these two really be able to bury their animosity and work as a team on the next edition of Raw?

Jeremy Piven and Dr. Ken Jeong may be hilarious actors, but they’re not much for facing down insidious Superstars who can easily put them in traction. Perhaps that’s why, after a confrontation with WWE Champion Randy Orton earlier, Piven chose to make all the lumberjacks in the night’s main event unfriendly faces for the 12 Rounds star. It was a treacherous situation for Cena, but for Miz, a loss meant he would be banned from SummerSlam as well as from Monday Night Raw.

During the match, Randy & The Legacy did jump & beat down John Cena. But John still managed to pick up the win.

After the match, John Cena was able to fight off The Legacy, Piven, & Dr. Ken. Raw ended with John Cena standing in the ring staring down Randy & The Legacy, who were on the ramp.

WWE Champion Randy Orton will join The Legacy against John Cena & Triple H in main event.
Cena informed the packed house at the RBC Center that when he battles Orton and The Game in a Triple Threat Match at Night of Champions in six days he plans on stepping from the ring with the WWE Title securely in his grasp. As might be expected, the current champion took exception.

The Viper was only too glad to administer a history lesson. He reminded Cena that it was he who retained the title when the three clashed previously in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXIV before his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase surrounded the ring. Before they could act, however, The Game joined the party. He told Orton that he's unconcerned who wins the title at Night of Champions as long as it's not The Viper.

After digesting his opponents' criticism, Orton was not satisfied to simply antagonize The Game and Cena; he also asked that they include him in the main event match alongside Rhodes & DiBiase. The Game and Cena readily agreed, and so the main event would offer a preview of sorts of the Triple Threat WWE Title Match at Night of Champions.

For all the disdain he exhibits toward his Night of Champions opponents, Triple H and John Cena, WWE Champion Randy Orton knows enough not to take these two men lightly. As he teamed up with his Legacy cohorts Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase against the pair, Orton knew this match would be pivotal. After all, whoever wins would be sure to enjoy a tremendous amount of momentum heading into Night of Champions. The only problem being that The Game and Cena were both well aware of the ramifications as well.

After a bumpy ride – as well as some high contention with The Game – it was Cena who finally scored a quick pin on The Viper, securing not only the win but also a great boost toward Night of Champions in just six days.

Raw’s special guest host, Seth Green, announced a Six-Diva Summer Swimsuit Spectacular Tag Team Match and a Six-Man Tag Team Match with himself, Triple H & John Cena facing WWE Champion Randy Orton & The Legacy.
Triple H opened Monday Night Raw by announcing the show’s special guest host, television and film star and co-creator of the hit show Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, Seth Green. The multi-talented Green’s first order of business was to announce the night’s first match, a Six-Diva Summer Swimsuit Spectacular Tag Team Match.

After Green broke the news of the crowd-pleasing contest, Triple H gave the WWE Universe something else to be excited about, reminding our fans of Robot Chicken’s season premiere on Sunday, July 26 at 11:30 p.m. ET, directly following Night of Champions on pay-per-view. The Adult Swim show will even be having a special guest of its own, as The Game himself appears in action figure form to take on child actress Dakota Fanning.

The two were then joined in the ring by WWE Champion Randy Orton, who demanded that Green put both his Night of Champions opponents, Triple H and John Cena, in 3-on-1 Handicap Matches. When Raw’s special guest host resisted, in spite of The Viper’s threats, Orton suggested another match: The Game & Cena vs. The Legacy. While Green didn’t grant The Legend Killer’s wish exactly, he came close, setting a Six-Man Tag Team Match with Orton & The Legacy facing Triple H, John Cena & Seth Green, himself.

Seth Green, John Cena & Triple H vs. The Legacy ended in a no contest.
Seth Green appeared on Raw brimming with confidence due to the Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode II DVD’s release right around the corner on July 21, and the show’s season premiere airing on Sunday, July 26 at 11:30 p.m. ET (right after Night of Champions on pay-per-view). But, after receiving a disconcerting pep-talk from John Cena and Triple H (both rivals for the WWE Title), Seth Green was apprehensive going into a tag team match against WWE Champion Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes.

Despite ongoing friction between Cena and The Game, the team held it together, with Green even getting a shot in on Rhodes. Later, when the tables had turned in Legacy’s favor, it was Raw’s special guest host who dove in, breaking up Orton’s pin of Triple H. But The Viper didn’t take kindly to Green’s involvement, attacking him and lining him up for his infamous punt. Just in the nick of time, however, John Cena rushed into the ring, defending his celebrity partner, fighting with all of Legacy before The Game joined the melee with his trusty sledgehammer.

After clearing the ring of Orton and his minions, Triple H stopped short of attacking Cena and the Night of Champions opponents shared a heated standoff. The tension was then broken by Green himself, and the three shared an in-ring celebration.

In both religion and ancient forms of magic, there has always been mystical strength and intensity surrounding the “Power of Three,” a triad of influences and reverence.

At Night of Champions, the Power of Three will also be on prominent display as a triumvirate of headstrong Superstars – WWE Champion Randy Orton, John Cena and Triple H – clash for the most coveted title in all of WWE.

The history simmering between Orton and Triple H has been well-documented and has lately boiled over into a deep, personal cruelty. For months, The Viper targeted Triple H and his family, including wife Stephanie McMahon, until finally he punted The Game in the skull, leaving his nemesis incapacitated for months.

The recent return of The King of Kings to Raw shocked everyone, including the WWE Champion, who found himself on the punishing end of Triple H’s vengeance – and a steel chair.

While the animosity between Orton and Triple H will unquestionably hang foul in the air, how might the inclusion of Cena affect the dynamic of the match? Cena has dealt with The Viper on several occasions but has only faced The Game one-on-one three times, resulting in one win, one loss and, most recently, a double disqualification. One hint may be found in the Triple Threat Match from WrestleMania XXIV, during which Cena, Triple H and then-WWE Champion Orton clashed.

It was toward the end of that match when Triple H and Cena traded heavy-fisted blows until finally The Game was able to administer a devastating Pedigree. Just when it appeared that The King of Kings would emerge with the gold, however, The Viper struck, punting The Cerebral Assassin squarely in the temple and quickly slithering atop Cena for the three-count to retain.

While two Superstars left empty-handed that night, there’s little doubt that both Triple H and Cena will do everything in their respective power to prevent a repeat performance. How they plan to achieve that is anyone’s guess. After all, each man prides himself on the ability to tackle challenges on their own, having proven that they’re their own men, prepared to plow through any Superstar, friend or foe, to capture gold again.

Will an intense focus of Orton and The Game on one another allow Cena to capitalize? Can Orton once again find the cunning enough to retain his precious gold? Will Orton’s Legacy henchmen play a role? Will Triple H and Cena find common cause to eliminate The Viper?

Ted DiBiase Sr. was the special gust host/GM for the night. One of the matches he made was Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase Jr.

Backstage, Randy suggested that Ted wouldn't be able to beat him, which angered Ted.

Vince McMahon announced Batista as the guest General Manager for the night.

Batista told Randy he would be in a 3-on-1 Gauntlet Match against three of Raw's new Superstars. If The Legacy tried to interfere, they would be fired on the spot.

Match One - Randy Orton vs. Evan Bourne.
Winner: Randy Orton.

Match Two - Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger.
Winner: Randy Orton via count out when Jack Swagger refused to get in the ring & face Randy, stating he always liked Randy & wanted to make an impression. He then shook hands with Randy & left.

Match Three - Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry.
Winner: Mark Henry.
Mark stated that he always liked Randy & also wanted to make an impression. He stood outside of the ring to be counted out, but then came back in before the count of ten to face Randy. At the end of the match, Batista was seen at the top of the ramp smiling at Mark Henry, who was looking at Batista & also smiling.

Winner & still WWE Champion: Randy Orton after interference from Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes. Triple H used the sledgehammer on them, but was unable to use the sledgehammer on RKO. RKO kicked him in the stomach & hit him with the RKO.

There are few things in this world more precious to Randy Orton than the WWE Championship. Unfortunately for the reigning champion, he’s hardly the only one who harbors such affinity for WWE’s most prized possession.

Triple H, his opponent at The Bash, has also been known to pine for the cherished gold – and to stop at nothing to obtain it.

The WWE Universe witnessed these warriors' determination vividly during the brief tenure of Donald Trump as the owner of Raw. The billionaire businessman arranged a Last Man Standing Match just a week before The Bash. After a particularly personal battle, each man was counted out for a draw when Triple H pressed Orton to the parking lot of Green Bay's Resch Center, where he proceeded to punish the WWE Champion. If The Game has his way, the punishment will hardly end there.

After Mr. McMahon bought Raw back from Trump (at twice the price), the enraged Chairman arranged for the WWE Title to be contested in a match that WWE hasn't seen in nearly seven years: A Three Stages of Hell Match. It is a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match, in which the first match will be a straight-forward wrestling match, the second a Falls Count Anywhere Match and the third, if necessary, will be a Stretcher Match.

The WWE Champion and his opponent share a long and tumultuous history that spans nearly a decade. Most recently, their animosity reached tragic proportions when Orton and his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase began systematically targeting the McMahon family, including Triple H’s wife, Stephanie.

After decimating the most storied family in the history of the squared-circle, the WWE Champion snuffed out their last shining light when he punted the skull of The Game at Backlash. In the wake of the devastating kick, Triple H wasn’t seen or heard from for weeks. That is, until the WWE Universe witnessed the return of The King of Kings to Monday Night Raw.

Prior to Triple H’s return, however, Orton and The Legacy attacked the then-WWE Champion Batista before a scheduled title match, sending The Animal from the arena on a stretcher. As The Viper waited to be ordained the WWE Champion, The Game crashed the coronation. Exacting a long-awaited vengeance, an enraged Triple H plowed through Rhodes & DiBiase en route to the man who attacked his family and put him on the shelf – obliterating his nemesis with a Pedigree onto a steel chair.

With Batista injured and the WWE Title up for grabs, a Fatal Four Way Match commenced the following week to determine who would reign. Animosity hung thick in the air as Orton, Triple H, John Cena and Big Show all collided for the honor. It was The Viper, however, who would emerge victorious among the wreckage.

And now, Orton must defend his title against the man who has vowed to extract every bit of flesh he feels he’s owed in a match that offers plenty of opportunity for just that. Can Orton possibly evade the wrath that awaits him in a Three Stages of Hell Match to retain the title? Or will Triple H be able to overcome The Viper and his network of annihilation, The Legacy?

After his Last Man Standing Match against Triple H ended in a draw, WWE Champion Randy Orton may have breathed a sigh of relief. That is, until Mr. McMahon knocked the wind out of him. Having bought back Raw from Donald Trump just moments earlier, The Chairman informed The Viper that he must face The Game this Sunday at The Bash in a Three Stages of Hell Match,which includes a regular match, a Falls Count Anywhere Match and, if necessary, a Stretcher Match. As Orton wheeled his luggage to the arena parking garage after the show, Triple H attacked him, pummeling him to the ground, slamming the trunk of a car against his back and offering him a not-so-subtle warning. "This isn't over," The Game growled at his longtime foe. "You're going to Hell."

Randy Orton and The Legacy brutally assaulted WWE Champion Batista and took his title.
Addressing a joyous WWE Universe for the first time since winning the WWE Title, Batista opened Raw by addressing his mentor, Hall of Famer Ric Flair. As The Animal explained that he won his first-ever WWE Championship for ‘Naitch, himself and all the WWE fans who were sick of Randy Orton, he was interrupted by The Viper himself. Without saying a word, Orton and his minions, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, assaulted the WWE Champion, overcoming him with their superior numbers and focusing on The Animal's left arm - even going so far as to lock it into a steel chair. The attack was brutal, necessitating that medical personnel rush to Batista’s side as The Legend Killer made off with his rival’s WWE Title.

Randy Orton invoked his rematch clause after WWE Champion Batista was taken away in an ambulance.
Prior to Kingston’s match against the devious Regal, the WWE Universe learned that WWE Champion Batista had been taken away from the Cajun Dome in an ambulance due to injuries sustained in The Legacy’s attack on The Animal. This made Orton’s words in the locker room area that much more distressing, as he announced that he was going to be invoking his rematch clause later in the night, and if Batista failed to show, The Viper would win the WWE title by forfeit.

Triple H returned, attacking The Legacy and causing WWE Champion Batista vs. Randy Orton to end in a no contest.
Flanked by his Legacy, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton took to the ring to invoke his rematch clause against WWE Champion Batista. Earlier in the night, the multi-generational Superstars attacked The Animal, injuring him so severely that he was taken from the arena in an ambulance, making his participation in a match unlikely. As The Viper waited for the count of 10 (at which point he would have won the WWE Title by forfeit), an ambulance approached the Cajun Dome. But the Superstar who emerged from the emergency vehicle may have been the last person Orton expected: Triple H.

The Game rushed to the ring with his signature sledgehammer, taking out Rhodes & DiBiase before turning his focus to his long-time nemesis. Triple H then brutally assaulted Orton with chairs, monitors and a thunderous Pedigree onto a waiting steel chair.

Cody Rhodes won a coin toss to face Batista in a Steel Cage Match; WWE Champion Randy Orton accepted WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s challenge to a “Fight to the Finish”.

As announced earlier on WWE.com, mere days before his Steel Cage Match against WWE Champion Randy Orton at Extreme Rules, Batista was set to face one of “The Viper’s” minions on Raw, also in a steel cage. To determine who would take on The Animal, Orton flipped a coin between Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. It was Rhodes who won the toss, eagerly accepting the opportunity to do some damage to his leader’s nemesis.

The Legacy was then joined in the arena by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Since ‘Naitch is prohibited from competing in an actual match, The Dirtiest Player in the Game wanted to face The Legend Killer to a “Fight to the Finish” in the parking lot, a challenge which Orton readily accepted.

When Cody Rhodes won a coin toss between himself and Ted DiBiase, he didn’t realize that his prize was a brutal beating from Batista. Despite The Animal’s massive size putting him at a disadvantage when attempting to escape a steel cage, Batista dominated the second-generation Superstar, securing victory as his Extreme Rules opponent, Randy Orton looked on from outside the cage.

Not all of the Raw action took place in the arena, as one of the evening’s most anticipated battles took place in the parking lot. Earlier in the evening, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair challenged WWE Champion Randy Orton to a “Fight to the Finish,” as a way of competing against “The Viper” without dishonoring his official retirement from the ring. It appeared that The Dirtiest Player in the Game would live up to his moniker as he took control of the contest, wailing on Orton and bringing him back into the arena. Once there, ‘Naitch continued to attack The Legend Killer and even applied his legendary Figure-Four Leglock.

But as Flair applied pressure to Orton’s legs, The Legacy attacked, brutalizing the Hall of Famer before locking him inside the steel cage with the recovered Legend Killer. Though Batista tried to honor his friend and mentor’s request to let him handle Orton on his own, the sight of Flair with The Viper at his throat was too much, and lured The Animal down to the ring. As The Animal struggled to get inside the cage, his Extreme Rules opponent, Orton, first leveled Flair with a thunderous RKO and then finished off the Legend with one of his trademark punts to the skull as Batista looked on in a primal rage.

Ric Flair came out & called out Randy Orton. Randy came out, but refused to fight him, stating he already lowered himself when he punched him last week. Ric shouted at Randy, telling him to get in the ring & do it again. Randy told him it's over. He said it's been over dating back to Evolution; Triple H only kept Ric around because he felt sorry for him. Randy then told Ric that he's starting to feel sorry for him, & even the fans feel sorry for him. Randy got in the ring & once again told Ric it was over, but Ric slapped Randy across the face. Randy hit him back, but Batista came in to make the save. Randy told Batista he was smart to save a pathetic man like Ric, but no one would save him in their title match at Extreme Rules.

Mr. Kennedy's music hit & he made his return. He told Randy that this was his official return; & he will shortly be WWE Champion. He said that he'd also be the mystery partner in the Five-On-Five maine vent. Randy said nothing, but just walked off.

“Evolution (noun): a gradual, peaceful process of change or development”

While all four former members of the group Evolution have certainly changed and developed, little about their recent activities could be classified as either gradual or peaceful.

In the latest chapter of Evolution, WWE Champion Randy Orton will square off against The Animal, Batista, in a Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules for the WWE Title.

Since becoming the youngest World Champion in WWE history, Orton has reveled, not only in his championship successes, but also in destroying the three Evolution members who had helped him attain such heights before they turned away from the brash Superstar: Ric Flair, Triple H and Batista.

Having outlasted the career of Flair and, more recently, orchestrating the demolition of Triple H and the McMahon family, the only member remaining in Orton’s crosshairs is Batista. While The Animal defeated Orton at Judgment Day after the WWE Champ got disqualified, Orton still retained the title.

Having come so close to Orton’s gold, The Animal isn’t about to go quietly. After all, it was a punt from the dreaded boot of The Legend Killer that sidelined Batista five months ago. With months of arduous rehabilitation behind him, Batista returned, determined to exact revenge on the man who derailed him.

While Orton has enjoyed a spate of victories recently, without the help of his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, inside the confines of the Steel Cage, will he be able to contain The Animal and retain his gold?

The show started off with Randy Orton coming out for a promo. Randy said he was just looking to retain the title, but he wanted to take Batista out for good. He began to go into how he was just about to accomplish it when...he paused as the audience cheered "Woo!". Randy said he should've expected him to show up, since back in the Evolution days, Flair wasn’t too fond of him back because he was a threat to surpass Triple H and him. Randy then went into how he punted Flair back in 2003, and he didn't mind doing do. He said if he hadn't of punted him, maybe he would've still had just enough to beat Shawn Michaels at WM24. He then said that he was proud that he kicked every member of Evolution in the skull. He also said they’d never get the retribution they want. He then dared Ric to get in his business again, because he wouldn't hesitate...just then, Flair's music hit & out came Flair.

Ric told Orton that he may still be champion, but he did not beat Batista. He went on to mention how Randy was this close to losiging the title, so he had to slap the ref and get himself DQ'ed. Ric then went into how back in the Evolution days, Randy was supposed to be the next big thing. But Batista blew right by him; and Batista was the man now. Ric then told Orton that he may have his little group, he may kick people in the head, and kept the title, but he’s never accomplished anything. Randy then told Ric that he has the title, so that means he is the man, and that he can beat Batista anytime, anywhere, anyplace.

Flair then told Orton that he had a talk with the Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero, and Orton would be defending his title against Batista one last time. It would be Batista vs. Orton for the WWE Title in a steel cage match.

Randy then told Ric he had a message for him to deliver to Batista. He then punched Ric in the face, knocking him down & beating on him. Ted and Cody slowly walked to the ring to also take part in this, but Batista stopped him. It became a 3 on 2 brawl until John Cena came out to help.

Later backstage, Randy stormed into Vickie & Chavo's locker room and asked what she thought she was doing, and that she can't book a match like that without talking to him first. Vickie reminded Randy that she was the GM, & he told Vickie to worry about staying on his good side.

It was later announced that that the main event that night would be John Cena & Batista vs. The Legacy.

Backstage, Ric told Batista that he was calling out Randy Orton next week. Batista told Flair he's retired. Flair said he couldn't wrestle, but he could still fight. He also went into how they made him retire, he didn't want to. He then told Batista "You don't think I can do it" & said if he wasn't going to have faith in him, he wouldn't be out in his corner during the main event match tonight.

Winners: John Cena & Batista.
After the match, Big Show came out to attack John Cena, but Ric Flair went by him & gave John a chair, who took out the Big Show. Ric Flair then took out Cody, who was about to jump off of the turnbuckle.

The Legacy remained on the stage as Batista & Flair celebrated in the ring.

It was announced that there was a no physical contact stipulation between Randy & Batista until Judgment Day.

Randy Orton called out Batista & offered him a spot in the Legacy. Batista declined told Randy that he loathes him. Randy told him that he's lucky there's a no physical contact stipulation.

Vickie came out & un-did the stipulation. She made a 2-on-1 match between Ted & Cody and Batista. If Ted & Cody wins, Batista faces the entire Legacy tonight. If Batista wins, he fights Orton tonight. She then told Randy to leave the ring because that match was next.

Ted & Cody vs. Batista.
Winners: Ted & Cody via DQ when Cody got a chair & Batista took it, getting caught by the referee & DQ'ed.

Backstage, Randy was about to be interviewed when Ted ran up, telling him he couldn't find Cody anywhere. Randy shoved away the cameraman & continued to talk to Ted (asking him where Batista was) before the 2 took off to find Cody.

Randy had Ted go down another part of the hallway as he kept going straight to find Cody. He found Cody talking to a woman, & told him they needed to go find Ted because they thought Batista might try to take them all out tonight. As they were walking, people ran past them, stating they'd get a doctor. Randy & Cody looked on & realized it was Ted, running over to him. Randy asked Ted what happened, & Ted responded with "Batista".

Later, Randy told Cody that Batista wouldn't try anything else since they were on to him. He told Cody this was the time to prove himself, & go take Batista out before he could get to them.

Backstage, Cody had a pipe, looking for Batista. He opened a closet door & Hornswoggle jumped out, yelling. Cody was looking in the closet when Batista jumped him from behind, throwing him in, going in himself, & shutting the door.

Winner: Randy Orton by DQ when Batista hit him in the ankle with a steel chair.
Batista tried to take Randy out the way the Legacy took Shane out, but Orton made it out of the ring & up the ramp. He could barely stand. Batista threw the steel steps at him, which just missed him. Batista stood in the ring as Orton lay on the ramp holding his ankle, staring each other down.

Randy Orton came out to fight Shane, who attacked him from behind. They were then joined by The Legacy, MVP, & Batista.

Vickie Guerrero then came out & announced the main event as a "You Win You're In" match. Whoever won their match could join Randy or Shane's team.

Winner: Cody Rhodes via countout when William Regal interferred & hit MVP in the leg.

Batista vs. Ted DiBiase Jr.
Winner: Ted DiBiase when Batista was DQ'ed for not backing off when the ref told him to.

It was later announced that if Batista or MVP interferred in the match, MVP would be stripped of his U.S. Title & Batista would lose his title shot at Judgement Day.

Backstage, Batista stated he'd take the title at Judgement Day & repeatidly apologized to Shane McMahon. Shane told him it was alright & continued to head out to do his match.

Shane McMahon vs. The Legacy.
Winner: via DQ when The Legacy beat down Shane, possibly shattering his ankle with a chair & the steel steps.
Batista came out to check on as The Legacy took off up the ramp. Randy then got on the mic & stated that Batista's Judgement Day was coming. Batista stood in the ring angry; declaring that he wanted Orton now & didn't want to wait. Raw then went off the air.

Vickie Guerrero came out & introduced Randy Orton as the new WWE Champion.

Randy came out with The Legacy. He stated that while Vickie was the Raw General Manager, everyone in the locker room, no matter how long they've been there, would have to answer to him. And if they didn't like it, they would join Triple H.

MVP then came out & stated that he would not answer to Randy Orton. After [MVP was] going back & forth with Ted DiBiase, Randy whispered something in Vickie's ear. She then stated that later on, MVP would be taking on Randy Orton.

Randy Orton vs. MVP.
Winner: No contest when Shane McMahon came out & attacked Randy with a kendo stick. The Legacy tried to chase him down with chairs, but Shane was able to get away through the audience on time.

It was announced that next week, it would be Randy Orton vs. Shane McMahon.

I am so sorry for the lack of updates around here!

Backstage, Ted & Cody are in the locker room talking about Triple H, Shane McMahon, & Batista. They state that they're ticking time bombs, & not on the same page like them. Ted then began to say that they were together, "but it's not to the same when....", Randy came in & asked why it wasn't the same; because he wasn't a champion. Ted said no, & Orton said they'd win because he was the very best. Ted & Cody put their careers in his hands because he’s the best. He then stated that Triple H is on borrowed time, & he had to use a sledgehammer to beat him (Orton). He said he’ll never forget what Randy did to his wife. He then guaranteed that he would beat Triple H tonight. Randy then left as Ted glanced at Cody.

Winner: Randy Orton. There was interference from The Legacy, Shane, & Batista.
Batista accidentally speared Shane, & he & Triple H continued to fight off The Legacy. The show went off the air with The Legacy on the ramp & Triple H, Shane McMahon, & Batista in the ring, both teams staring each other down.

Randy Orton comes out & says he doesn't know what sickens him more, the fact that Triple H used the sledgehammer illegally at Wrestlemania 25, or the fact that people enjoyed it. Randy then said that WM25 proved nothing; Triple H knows he can't beat him on his own, & he will get his rematch.

He then discusses the McMahon family. He stated that they better stay out of his way. He discusses how he kicked Vince & Shane is the skull & DDT'ed Stephanie, & mentioned that maybe he should attend a McMahon family outing. He said that he hasn't seen Linda in awhile, & maybe he'd pay her a visit. He even mentioned paying a visit to the McMahon Grandchildren.

Just then, Vince's music hit & Vince came out, very angry that he mentioned his Grandchildren. He said that Randy wanted to run his mouth & threaten his family; he'd give him what he wants (a fight). But he then said one thing he would not get was his re-match; he didn't deserve it. He said he'd get some Backlash over him; a tidal wave.

Vince then made a match for Backlash: Triple H, Shane, & himself vs. The Legacy. Randy told Vince it was typical of him to hide behind Shane & Triple H & avoid him. But Vince called Randy a coward since he didn't have the Legacy out there to back him up. He also called Orton a failure. So Randy challanged Vince to a one-on-one match; stating that he'd put Vince down for good. Vince said maybe he would put him down for good or put him in a coma, but then again, maybe he won't, & accepted the challange.

At some point, Randy told Vince he might not make it to Backlash.

Vicki Gurerrero came out & announced that she was now the new GM on Raw (she's leaving Smackdown). She made the match at Backlash a WWE Title Match. If anyone on Triple H's team scored the pin, then Triple H would retain the WWE Title. But if anyone on Orton's team scored the pin, then Randy Orton would become the new WWE Champion.

Vince McMahon vs. Randy Orton.
Winner: No contest.
Triple H & Shane & The Legacy all ran in & all hell broke loose. Just then, Batista made his return & chased off the Legacy. Vince then stated that Randy was right, he wouldn't make it to Backlash, but Batista would be taking his place. Randy did not seem very happy about this announcement.

Ted & Cody stated that Randy Orton would have an address that would change the face of the WWE Universe.

Randy came out with The Legacy & security. He showed the video from when Triple H kicked him out of the Evolution due to jealousy. stated that he knew all along what he was doing (meaning he doesn't have I.E.D.). Backstage, Randy stated that Triple H accused him of being a coward. He then stated that Triple H is the one who broke into his home. Randy said that he [Orton] was the one who kicked Vince & Shane. He was the one who put his hands on Steph. He then stated that Triple H had better remember who he was dealing with. He said he'd raise the level of attack on his family, & that they bought this on themselves.

Winner: No Match. They began fighting before the ref could even ring the bell.
Triple H went to get his sledgehammer out from under the ring, but Cody Rhodes came out from under there & attacked Triple H. The Legacy then beat him down & handcuffed him to the ropes. Randy was going to hit Triple H, but stated that there was only one person who could save him, & she better get out there now. Stephanie then came out, only to eventually be attacked & knocked out by Orton. Randy then laid a kiss on her, before hitting Triple H with the sledgehammer.

Backstage, Randy was very angry at what had happened the week before. He called Triple H a homicidal maniac. He stated that Triple H broke into his house, terrorized the camera crew, & traumatized his wife - she may never be the same again. He said Triple H was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, breaking & entering, & aggrivated assault. He said Triple H could go to prision. But rather than let society deal with Triple H, he would deal with him at Wrestlemania, & hand him his sentence. He said at Wrestlemania, it would be Orton's Law, & he would become the new WWE Champion.

Winner: Triple H.
Triple H beat down Cody Rhodes before getting his sledgehammer & having a steel cage lowered, & it was then the bell rang for the match to officially start. Randy & Ted tried to climb up the cage to get in, but Triple H kept throwing Cody at the cage, knocking them down. After the match, Triple & Randy/Ted had a staredown.

As Triple H was leaving the building later, Todd Grishim asked him how he was able to get Vicki to cooperate with him & lower the cage. Triple H never answered, but when he got into his car, the camera revealed Stephanie McMahon in the passenger's seat.

I feel a cold coming on, so I'm keeping this as short & sweet as possible.

There were 2 interviews with Randy in his home. He stated that he wasn't hiding out, but he there under restraint because he was afraid of what he'd do to Triple H. He also say he'd enjoy the match between Triple H & The Legacy.

Randy popped on the screen for the 3rd time & told Ted & Cody that they shouldn't be smiling. He stated that Triple H let them down, the fans down, & him down, and he probably wouldn't show up at WM25. He told his "wife" [an actress playing her] to get the door, & continued on his rant, only to realize a few seconds later what was going on. He ran & told her not to open it, but Triple H busted in. Randy ran off & hid, eventually trying to attack Triple H. The 2 brawled until Triple H threw Orton threw a window. He then went outside, continuing to beat down Orton, until the cops came & arrested Triple H. Orton tried to go after Triple H, but was restrained as Triple H was put into the police car.

Randy Orton came out with The Legacy, his lawyers, & the police. He stated that he would face the winner of the World Heavyweight Championship Match between Edge & John Cena; Triple H wouldn't be at Wrestlemania because he was going to jail - - he was pressing charges.

Triple H came out & stated that Randy's doctors & lawyers stated that he has a disease - - he has no control over his actions. But he has control over his. He came down to the ring & dropped the sledgehammer; turning around to show he had no other weapons. He got in the ring & tried to change Randy's mind. He bought up the Evolution & how he had to finish it off & take out all of the McMahons. [I think] he told Randy he was too scared to face him at WM25. Randy's laywer then told Triple H that his client had no other comments.

The police proceeded to arrest Triple H, but Randy stopped them. He stated that he changed his mind, & he would indeed challenge Triple H at WM25. But under one condition - - neither touches the other unless provoked. Otherwise, he would change his mind & Triple H would spend Wrestlemania 25 in jail. Triple H agreed & left the ring.

So at Wrestlemania 25, it will be:

Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship.

A car pulled up & Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase got out to make sure it was clear before Randy entered the arena.

Backstage, Grisham talks to Cody & Ted come out. Cody says the way this is being shown isn’t right. He said that Randy didn't want to face Shane, Shane called him out. Steph was the one who came out last week & confronted Randy. He said people should be taking responsibility for their actions, rather than pointing fingers. He stated that Orton will be out to address this later tonight, & when Triple H shows up, they'll be ready.

Randy Orton came out with The Legacy & a sledgehammer & cut a promo. He stated that since he's been waiting for Triple H all night, he may as well wait in the ring. He went on about how he was the victim. He wanted to continue on with his career, but Vince insulted him & tried to fire him in the ring. He said that Shane kept coming at him, so he kicked him in the skull & put him in the hospital with his father. He then went on to Steph, stating that the last time she got in his face she slapped him, & she thinks she can do whatever she wants because of her last name. He told everyone that he acted on instinct. They have no idea what he goes through & they have no idea what it's like to be at the top; the pressure he feels. But he said the McMahon know & Steph should've known better. He then went on to say he only hopes their children were watching last week, just as Triple H popped up on the Titon Tron, making his way to the ring.

Triple H then came out with his own sledgehammer. Randy then told Trips that if he put his sledgehamer down, he'd put his down, & they could fight like men. Both men dropped their sledgehammers, but Trips then revealed that he had another one behind his back.

He chased The Legacy [minus Cody, who they lost a little earlier] through-out the backstage area, nearly getting Randy a few times. He hit Ted once, but both Randy & Ted were able to get out & get back to their car, where Cody Rhodes was waiting to jump in the drivers seat. As they got into the car, Trips busted the car window with the sledgehammer. They managed to escape the arena as Trips threw the sledgehammer at the car, but missing.

When Stephanie McMahon came down to check on him & yell at Randy, Randy hit her with the RKO. Just then, The Legacy took off out of the ring as Smackdown's Triple H ran down to the ring, checking on Steph & looking very angry. The show went off the air with Triple H & Randy Orton staring each other down; Triple H in the ring & Orton on the ramp.

At No Way Out, Randy Orton might learn that it was in err to target not only the most legendary namesake in the history of the squared circle, but also its greatest spectacle: WrestleMania. Standing across from the Legend Killer in a No Holds Barred Match will be the McMahon family’s champion, Shane McMahon.

In a confrontation where anything goes, the WWE Executive Vice President will shed his familiar pinstriped, two-piece suit for far less corporate accoutrements: Nike Air Jordans and virtually any weapon he can find. Despite the most dangerous stipulation set before him, Shane McMahon will fight a Superstar without conscience – the individual who callously punted his father, the WWE Chairman, weeks ago.

After winning the 2009 Royal Rumble Match (and a World Title Match at WrestleMania XXV along with it), Orton threatened litigation against Raw General Manager Stephanie McMahon in the event she or WWE attempted to fire the Legend Killer for his heinous actions against Mr. McMahon. The Chairman’s daughter, however, revealed part of a more intricate plan for Orton. Intermittent Explosive Disorder or no, the “Legacy” leader was met by an unexpectedly hostile, seemingly unstoppable assault from Shane O’Mac, whose torrent of fists were left unrestrained by Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes and their chief.

Shane O’Mac is focused on defending the dignity of his kin – a bloodline that extends into the entire WWE locker room, which Orton essentially threatened as well when he claimed willingness to jeopardize WrestleMania. If past confrontations involving the Chairman’s son have proven anything, it’s that no risk (or leap) is too great when it comes to winning. And, this time, Shane isn’t just seeking victory; he’s seeking to revoke his enemy’s guaranteed position on The Grandest Stage of Them All by crippling the Legend Killer.

Though it’s possible that Orton is moving directly into the pre-conspired scheme of the McMahon clan, this No Way Out bout comes at the behest of the Legend Killer, himself. The 2009 Royal Rumble victor always bears an ill-willed agenda accented with meticulous detail. Is a No Holds Barred confrontation with Shane McMahon exactly what he needs to secure his Legacy’s permanent foothold?

Shane McMahon came out& stated that Randy Orton challenged him to a match at No Way out, & he accepted. He then stated that is would be a No Holds Barred Match. Randy came out & said that he told The Legacy not to fight back. He said the reason he told them not to fight back, & the reason why he didn't fight back, was because the roster was out there just waiting for the chance to impress Shane or Stephanie. He said 3 on 1 would've become 20 on 3, & he wasn't about to let that happen. He said it was a small price to pay for the match at No Way Out. Shane then told Randy that he's ready to sacrafice his body to make sure Randy doesn't make it to Wrestlemania 25. Randy told Shane to call up the hospital he put his father in & ask them for another bed, & put it right next to Vince's, because when he was done with him at No Way Out, that's where he'd be. Randy teased coming to the ring a few times before finally getting in there. The Legacy tried to jump Shane, but Shane grabbed a kendo stick [I hope I used the right words there lol] & attacked Cody & Ted with it before The Legacy left the ringside area.

Backstage, Shane & Stephanie were talking when they were jumped by The Legacy. They ran at Shane, but ended up pushing Steph into a door & knocking her down. They beat down Shane & any security who tried to help. Randy nearly punted Shane, but decided that he would punt Stephanie instead. He ran at her, but Shane jumped in the way of his sister & took the hit for her [I think it was either in the side or ribs, but I can't quite remember]. Officials then ran over & got The Legacy away as Stephanie asked Shane if he was okay. Randy then stood there with the same look on his face from when he punted Vince in the head.

It was announced that next week on Raw, Randy Orton would be taking on The Undertaker. Stephanie McMahon had Kane talk to him, & in return, she gave him the final spot in the Elimination Chamber Match at No Way Out for The World Heavyweight Championship.

Randy Orton came out with Cody, Ted, his 2 lawyers, & his therapist. He stated that he has been diagnosed with I.E.D. - Intermittent Explosive Disorder. He then read a statement that says I.E.D. affects 16 million Americans. When an individual is provoked, they suffer a loss of control & outbursts of physical violence. He then said when Stephanie slapped him & Vince threatened his job, he become sufficiently provoked, & everyone saw his face when it was over.

He then states that his therapist can confirm the the WWE knew of his condition, but did nothing about it. If Stephanie McMahon chooses to fire him tonight, he will sue her and WWE. Infact, there will be 2 lawsuits. Suing them for firing him, plus suing them for a breach of contract, because the title shot at Wrestlemania 25 is legally his for winning the 2009 Royal Rumble.

He then reads a prepared apology off of a piece of paper directed to the McMahons & the fans. He thanks everyone & leaves the ring.

Later that night, Stephanie McMahon came out to address Randy Orton. She stated that he can't expect to get away with what he did last week & called him to the ring. Randy then came out, once again with Cody, Ted, his 2 lawyers, & his therapist. Randy told Steph that if she fired him, she would be subjecting herself to a nightmare. He stated the Cody & Ted have both already vowed to walk. His therapist then told Stephanie that I.E.D. is a serious issue, & ignoring it qualifies as extreme negligence. He then said his client will not get down on his knees and apologize. He said if Randy is fired, there will be extreme consequences. Stephanie then asked, “Is that some kind of threat?”. Randy told her it wasn't a threat, but a promise. He had a legal right to be at WM25 because he won the Royal Rumble. He stated that he would file an injunction this year & there would be no Wrestlemania if he could not compete. He then asked what she planned to do about that. Just then, the Raw locker room came out & stood at the entrance way. Randy asked them what they were all looking at, & stated that he didn't care if they had a Wrestlemania. He said he'd take each one of them down if Stephanie tries to take him down. He then stated that he wanted to be fired, so he could sue the company for all it had. He even begged her, stating "FIRE ME! FIRE ME! FIRE ME!" & then told Steph to let him hear the words her Father was about to say before he kicked him in the stull. Stephanie then told him that firing him would be too easy, & they had bigger plans for him.

Shane McMahon's music hit as Shane walked out, removed his jacket, & rolled up his sleeve. He got in the ring & stared at Randy before attacking him. The Legacy tried to hold him back, but he broke away countless times & beat on them as well. They managed to help Randy up the ramp, but Shane followed them & attacked him again before the locker room jumped in, doing what looked to be breaking them up. Shane broke free & looked for Randy, but Randy had already managed to escape. Raw went off the air with Shane asked "Where is he?".

WWE Hall of Famer "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jr. was on the plane to Detroit, Michigan this morning for tomorrow night's Royal Rumble event. No word yet if he'll be used on the show. Bob Orton, Jr. was dropped from his WWE contract on February 13, 2006.

How careful do you have to be when punting your boss in the head?

Well, if you're Randy Orton, the most hated heel in the wrestling industry and your boss is billionaire bad boy Vince McMahon, the answer (backed up by the sick thud of replay) is not so safe.

And that's just how WWE wanted to lead into their second biggest pay-per-view of the year, with Orton kicking McMahon in the head to the shock/cheers/boos/disbelief of the millions of Raw fans who scrambled for their DVR remote to watch the kick again.

"If you watch the replay, I wasn't too careful. I definitely let him have it," Orton admits when talking about what transpired Monday night. "My wife DVR'd it for me because I had to watch it for myself. My foot still hurts. And if that's the case, I'm sure he has a nice migraine right now."

ESPN caught up with Orton as he prepared for the 30-man Royal Rumble match to talk about what it's like playing the role of a heel, the story behind his new tats, and the future of The Legacy.

Here's what the best punter since Ray Guy had to say:

ESPN: How did growing up in a house where your dad (Cowboy Bob Orton) was one of the top heels of his day, prepare you for life as "the bad guy"?

Randy Orton: I have to put my father over because he really taught me a lot, especially when it comes to out-of-the-ring psychology and how to react when you're approached by fans after a show or in the airport. It might sound silly, but a lot of those things come into play when you're playing a character. You meet people outside of the ring, and if you act a certain kind of way, then they really believe that this guy is a bastard. They want to watch, tune in, buy tickets to see me get my ass handed to me, and I think that's why I'm in the position I'm at right now, because I understand that. I understand the psychology of the sport, especially inside the ring. From bell to bell, from when my entrance plays and I step through that curtain, people have to wonder what's going on inside that guy's head. And my theme music, "Voices", describes my character to a tee. When I walk to the ring, I hear voices telling me what to do and sometimes it's not the right thing, but it's definitely damn entertaining.

ESPN: From yourself to Cody Rhodes (son of Dusty Rhodes) and Ted DiBiase (son of The Million Dollar Man) to older guys like The Rock, it seems like the second and third generation stars just have such an edge both inside and outside of the ring. Why is there such an advantage to being a legacy?

Randy Orton: When you grow up in the business as a fan and as the son of someone who wrestles for Vince and wrestles for WWE, you see a lot of backstage stuff and how the wrestlers interact with each other. When I was a kid, these wrestlers really took me under their wing when I got to travel with my dad during the summers. I was so young, traveling with my dad when I was five, six, and seven years old, but I look back and I was so lucky because the guys who are coming up now, most of them only got to watch wrestling on television as a fan. What's different about me, I was bred for it.

ESPN: Your career really started to turn the corner after you joined Evolution with Ric Flair, Triple H and Batista. How did Flair and Triple H help you in your career?

Randy Orton: I have to give props to both Triple H and Ric Flair. When I was a part of Evolution, we rode together from town to town and that was a great experience for me because while my father taught me quite a bit about out-of-the-ring psychology, Flair and Hunter, I really learned a lot from them about how to perform inside the ring. Being involved in tag matches with them and seeing how they react to certain situations that come up in the ring, it became second nature to me. I got to wrestle against people like Shawn Michaels and Goldberg with Flair and Hunter in my ear teaching me right from wrong, pointing out my mistakes. But a big part of that was also me being good enough to correct that mistake and not make it again. Learning from my mistakes at the same time being criticized by Triple H and Ric Flair made me what I am today. Without them, I definitely wouldn't be here right now in this position.

ESPN: Is traveling on the road with Ric Flair the rock star lifestyle it's made out to be?

Randy Orton: Oh my god, yeah. Everything is five star with that guy, from the hotels to the wine and champagne. Before I was married, before I was with my wife, I was traveling with Ric Flair and women were everywhere. It was crazy. The lifestyle he leads, he's the wheelin', dealin', kiss-stealin' son of a gun. He's Ric Flair and there's no one like him, there won't ever be another like him in the wrestling world again. No one will match up to Ric Flair and how he lives. He's a great man and a great tutor of the game. And of course, Triple H is right there too, giving me all the little tips. He loves this business. He is one of those guys who was a fan growing up, but it's different with him because he got it so quick, the understanding of how everything works and the psychology you need to have in the ring and with the fans.

The key is dictating what the fans do rather than letting them dictate what you do. It's a completely different universe when you're in there with Triple H and Ric Flair. Learning from the best, you will eventually become the best if you have the talent already, if you have that potential. And I think that's what they saw in me. They saw that third generation kid who loved the business, had the hunger to be the best, and they took advantage of that and taught me so much. God thank them because without them, I wouldn't have been the three-time World Heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion, tag champion, three-time Survivor Series sole survivor, and I believe I'm going to add Royal Rumble winner after Sunday. I have big hopes.

ESPN: Is the Royal Rumble a fun match to be in because of all the new match-ups, or is it something that is more dangerous than it looks because of all the big bodies that could land on you from any angle?

Randy Orton: It's definitely dangerous. If you get knocked down, if you take a bump in that ring, you have so many feet walking around, so many big guys ... if the Big Show lands on you when you're on the ground, you're not getting back up. He'll pick you up like a sack of crap and toss you over the top rope. I think that's where Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase come in handy. They are the eyes in the back of my head.

ESPN: Your RKO is one of the most spectacular finishing moves in the sport. What do you think it is about the move that makes it something everyone looks forward to seeing, even if we are supposed to hate you?

Randy Orton: It can come out of nowhere. In the air, on the ground, crouched down, setting up for it, it's just something that's unexpected, and when I hit it, you're not kicking out. It's a great move because I can do it to everybody. Since I don't need to pick you up, I can hit Big Show with it, I can hit Rey Mysterio with it. I can do it on the run, if you're back behind me, from either side ... it's the perfect move.

ESPN: You took some time off recently due to injury, and when you came back you were covered in tattoos. Is that a look you always wanted?

Randy Orton: Hell yeah, I've always wanted sleeves. Tattoos are addicting, and I used to have this tribal tattoo, but I was never really happy with it. I wanted to get the sleeves, and when I did get hurt, it wasn't that bad of an injury and I was able to move around just weeks after the bone started to heel. I figured, shoot, this is the best opportunity I've got to sit down and get some work done. I got about 50 hours put into my arms. It's a wash, where it's a faded art. I have a bunch of skulls and roses, and I have a little rose that's colored in that's actually a tribute to my daughter Alanna Marie. They all have their own little meanings to me personally, and I always liked the look of sleeves. I'm really glad I did it.

ESPN: Are the new tats something you want to see updated in your video game character when WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 rolls around?

Randy Orton: For sure. I've actually already taken the studio shots for the new game and the new action figure. The next game should definitely have all my new tattoos.

ESPN: You mentioned Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase earlier and how The Legacy is watching your back. Any hopes to add a new member, and if so, wouldn't Stephanie or Shane McMahon have about the best legacy in the business if you wanted to add one of them?

Randy Orton: I never really thought about that, but that's a really good idea. I would actually like to make the group one more man strong. I would like to have four guys in my group because I think four is that magic number. We need a big guy. Someone we can count on to be the heater. Someone who is an unstoppable force and an immovable object. Someone similar to how Batista was in Evolution. So yeah, I'm still recruiting for The Legacy but I don't think Shane McMahon and Stephanie are too happy about what I did to their dad Monday night. We'll have to wait and see what comes of that.

ESPN: Are there a lot more legacy kids in WWE's development system?

Randy Orton: Mike Rotunda has two boys who are in FCW, the WWE's developmental system. Then of course there was (Superfly) Snuka's son who had his shot, but he's out. Afa the Wild Samoan's son had his shot, but he's out. One guy I've been looking at really closely is Harry Smith. He's Davey Boy Smith's son, and he's a big, young kid who has that hunger. He's a strong boy, and I think he's at that age now where he's learned from some of the mistakes he's made in the past. He originally debuted as DH Smith, but he's a completely different person right now. I have my eye on him, but we'll have to see what the future holds. I need one more guy, but he has to have wrestling in his blood and he has to have that potential to one day follow in my footsteps. I won't settle for anything less.

Backstage, Randy & Ted were talking. Randy said if he wins, they all win. Cody then came in & told them that Snuka & Manu were in Stephanie McMahon's office earlier, & that there was a rumor that she was going to fire Randy tonight. Randy then said they'd see about that, & walked off.

Randy approached Stephanie in her office & told her she did the right thing by firing Chris Jericho last week. Stephanie interupted & told him she was not going to fire him, so he could stop sucking up & get out of her office. Randy said he was being nice, not sucking up. He told her the only person who should be worried about being fired is her since Vince is back. She told him that was none of his business. He then asked if it was none of his business that people laugh behind her back. He also told her that if her last name wasn't McMahon, she'd be a nobody. Stephanie then slapped him across the face. Randy stared at her & walked off.

Later during Vince's return, Chris Jericho was reinstated when he apologized to Stephanie McMahon & the fans. As he left, Randy came out & told Vince that Stephanie owed him an apology for slapping him in the face. Vince demanded that Randy apologize to him, but Randy stood there in silence. Vince threatened to fire Randy, in which Randy responded with "You don't want to do that". Vince began to fire him when Randy slapped him hard, knocking him down. He then punted Vince right in the head, almost immediately realizing what he had done, with a look of shock on his face. Stephanie & EMTs came out for Vince as Ted & Cody came out to Randy. Randy eventually left the ring, still looking shocked over what he had done.

Winner: Randy Orton after the ref continued to count even though Kane's shoulder was up.

Snuka & Manu came out to confront Randy & Cody Rhodes, claiming they had back up. Ted DiBiase Jr.'s music then hit as he made his return to Raw. They entered the ring along with Cody Rhodes & circled Randy. Randy, Cody, & Ted then attacked Snuka & Manu, revealing that Ted was indeed working with Randy & Cody.

Backstage, Randy, Cody, & Ted were talking. Randy thanked Ted for the tip about them planning to attack him, & told him he was only trying to knock some sense when he punted him. Ted told him that the past was the past. Cody [I could be wrong, it may have been Ted] mentioned that the next stop was the Royal Rumble. Randy them reminded them that there could be only one winner of The Royal Rumble.

Randy Orton Is The New Mr. Monday Night.

There are some pretty intriguing story lines on Raw right now, and Randy Orton is involved in several of them.

The JBL/Shawn Michaels saga remains the main angle on Raw, and last night Orton, John Cena and Chris Jericho were brought into it. The Orton/Legacy story line also is heating up, and Orton is part of the Kane/Kelly Kelly angle as well.

Orton continues to be the most compelling man in sports entertainment, and even though he was all over last night’s show, it never felt like he was being overexposed. Whether he was cutting a promo in the ring, engaging in a backstage segment or wrestling, Orton had my full attention.

I’m curious as to how Orton will be booked in the coming months. Even though he’s a fantastic heel, he seems ripe for a babyface turn. If Cena versus Orton is the Raw main event at WrestleMania 25 (and I think it will be), it will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts. It would be huge if WWE pulled off a double turn ala Steve Austin-Bret Hart, but I seriously doubt that a Cena heel turn is even being considered.

Other thoughts on last night’s show:

Speaking of intriguing story lines, it was announced that Vince McMahon – who hasn’t been on television in more than six months – will be returning to Raw in two weeks. Just in case anyone has forgotten, the last time we saw the WWE chairman, part of the set collapsed on him. I think the time is about right for him to come back. …

The wrestling action was good, especially the tag team match pitting John Morrison and The Miz against Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston. …

The main event – Michaels and Cena against Orton and Jericho – was entertaining and had a nice dose of drama, as the question was whether Michaels would attack Cena per JBL’s instructions. I’m a little surprised that Michaels didn’t “accidentally” superkick Cena, but in retrospect, Michaels not doing it was the right call. It reinforced that Michaels is a conflicted babyface and not merely JBL’s puppet. I’m looking forward to next week’s Michaels-Cena match (with JBL in Michaels’ corner). …

The opening segment in which Orton and Jericho faced off with Michaels and JBL over last week’s controversial four-way elimination match got the show off to a good start. Michaels got a fair amount of boos, but some cheers as well. …

Sim Snuka being booted out of The Legacy – if he was ever actually in it – was a surprising twist. With both Snuka and Manu out of the group, I’m guessing they form a babyface tag team to go against Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. (when he returns). …

Kane is wrestling Orton next week in the next chapter of the angle with Kelly Kelly. I’m interested to see where this is headed. I have a feeling that Orton will talk his way out of this match and Kane will continue to stalk Kelly Kelly until some babyface comes to her rescue. …

The CM Punk-William Regal match for the Intercontinental title was a letdown after all the time that was spent building it up. It didn’t even go five minutes and had a cheap DQ finish. At least there is going to be a rematch. …

The Kelly Kelly-Jillian Hall match wasn’t bad at all. Jillian was very aggressive and Double K showed a lot of fire in her comeback. I liked Kelly Kelly’s new finisher in which she jumped on Hall’s back and hit a guillotine legdrop. …

The moratorium on shooting Stephanie McMahon below the waist was lifted. She looked great, which came as no surprise to me because she looked great when I saw her backstage last month when Raw was at Verizon Center in Washington. I assume the lack of a full body shot prior to last night was because she was self conscious about her weight when she first returned to TV.

The show opened up with Randy Orton & Chris Jericho in the ring. They stated that despite the "every man for himself" rule of a Fatal Fourway Match, Shawn was learly working with JBL. They've filed a formal protest to get JBL removed from the Championship Match at The Royal Rumble, Shawn to never compete for the title ever again, & to let those Randy & Chris have a match later to determine the No. 1 Contender. Chris stated that he didn't care what the hypocrite fans thought.

JBL & Michaels then came out & told Randy & Chris they're right; they were working together. He told them to lose with dignity, because they would've done the same thing if they could. Chris then told JBL that they don't associate with with dishonest and indecent people. Randy & Chris then turned to Shawn & proceeded to tell him he was a sell out & his actions made him look like a prophet. Shawn then told Chris that if there was one thing that would allow him to sleep at night, it was knowing the he personally made sure those 2 would not fight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Randy then told Shawn to face the fact, he took a turn for the worse. He then told Shawn that Ric Flair's career was ended by "a weak, pathetic, sellout". Randy then told him that last week's decision would be overturned tonight.

Stephanie McMahon then came out & stated that Shawn Michaels did not lay down last week, he took the Clothesline From Hell, & that the referee's decision still stands. She then told Chris & Randy that they have both been entered in the WWE Royal Rumble. Chris then asked if this was supposed to be some kind of an award. He then stated that Shawn doesn't deserve to even be in the Royal Rumble. JBL agreed & said that Shawn's sole purpose would be to make sure he wins the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble by being in his corner. Stephanie accepted that, but said that's 3 weeks away, & she wanted to talk about tonight.

Stephanie then said the easiest thing to do would be to book those four in a tag team match, of Randy & Chris vs. Shawn & JBL. But she wanted to make things more interesting. Instead, tonight would be a test of Michaels’s integrity. It would be Randy & Chris vs. Shawn Michaels & John Cena.

Later backstage, Randy told Cody Rhodes & Sim Snuka that they passed phase 1, & tonight they had another chance to prove themselves to him again with phase 2. If they win, they're in. If they lose, they're out. He told them their fathers were Hall of Famers, as was his father, & he would not accept failure. Manu then approached him & asked for another chance to prove himself. Randy declined, & Manu stated that he wasn't perfect, & even Randy lost his match last week. Randy became angry & told Manu that he's done nothing. He stated that his father was Afa of the Wild Samoans, & he was nothing compared to his father ["Cowboy" Bob Orton] or him, & neither was he [Manu]. He then told him that half of the fans ddon’t even know his name & stated "and you have the audacity to call me out?”. He then told Manu he would never, ever be a part of The Legacy, & that he didn't want to see his face again. Cody & Sim stared at Manu before walking away.

Winners: Cody Rhodes & Sim Snuka when Cody got the pinned.

Backstage, Cody & Snuka approached Randy. Randy congratulated Cody, but then turned to Snuka & told him he was out. Snuka told him that didn't make any sense. Randy then said he had a match later & didn't have time to argue it, & he couldn't have been more clear. He stated that Cody won the match. Snuka then told Randy it was a tag match, & only one person can make the pin in a tag match. Randy told him he wanted to see who the weak link was, & he found it. Randy then turned to Cody & asked if he had a problem with it. Cody said that all he knew was he won the match. He looked at Snuka & said "Sorry" in a non-sincere tone before he & Orton walked away.

It was announced that next week Randy Orton would be taking on Kane.

But the person on Raw to keep your eye on more than anyone else is Randy Orton.

In 2009, Adam "Edge" Copeland is going to have some stiff competition for the title of Single Best Performer In WWE, and he's going to get that competition from Orton.

There's a certain look in his eyes now, a confidence that permeates the room, a comfort with one's self that overshadows his natural arrogance.

Orton's ring work was always excellent and gets better by the day, but now he's learning great control on the mic. Six months from now, play back Orton's promos from the past few weeks, and you'll be amazed at how the solid promos he's doing today pale by comparison.

You can see it as each episode of Raw transpires. Orton gets better every moment he's out there. He's becoming the most complete heel in World Wrestling Entertainment. He has poise, patience, and is just now beginning to grasp the masterful control he can have over the audience's emotion with each word, inflection, and facial mannerism he delivers.

While Smackdown finally pulled the trigger on the uber-popular Jeff Hardy ascending to the throne of WWE champion, the future of WWE may very well be the sinister heel on Raw whose understanding of his own talents can propel him to even greater heights than he has already achieved in his young but accomplishment-filled career.

After watching this week's excellent edition of Monday Night Raw, I am convinced that unless someone screws it up, World Wrestling Entertainment in 2009 will truly enter The Age of Orton.

Randy Orton was backstage with Cody Rhodes, Manu, and Sim Snuka. He told them that he would not tolerate losers in the Legacy. All 3 of them had matches tonight. If they win, they're in; if they lose, they're out. Randy told Cody he was up first.

Cody & Sim both won their matches, but Manu lost his, causing him to be kicked out of The Legacy.

Backstage, Kelly Kelly was talking to someone, telling them that she protected them from Kane & she really liked him. The camera then revealed that person to be Randy Orton. Randy told Kelly that it was one night, and it wasn't all that memorable. He told her he used her for one night, she was pathetic, and the last thing he needed was a distraction. He then walked off, leaving Kelly standing there.

Fatal Fourway Elimination Match: Winner faces John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble.
Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels. vs. Chris Jericho vs. JBL.

Backstage, Sim Snuka was trying to convince Randy Orton to let him join in his group, stating that as a second generation Superstar, he could make a difference. Cody & Many then approached them after losing their match. Manu then looked at Randy & asked "What?", in which Randy replied "I don't wanna hear it". He then told Snuka that they'd talk later, & maybe they could use a new member. He then walked off, leaving Snuka, Cody, & Manu there staring at each other.

Later, Randy was in the ring & it was announced that Batista was unable to compete, & Randy won via forfeit. Randy then got on the mic & said for 4 years, he dreamed of kicking Batista in the head, & Christmas came early for him because it finally happened. He said 4 years ago in this arena, Batista had him in the air in celebration before dropping him. He then told Batista that the next time he saw him, he'd be the World Heavyweight Champion.

Next week, in a Fatal Four Way to decide the No. 1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, it will be:
